We’ve already hit Week 3 of the 2022 NFL season and another slate of exciting matchups to anticipate. One of the highlights of the week is a Monday Night Football showdown between two NFC East rivals as the Dallas Cowboys travel to MetLife Stadium to take on the New York Giants.
Despite losing starting quarterback Dak Prescott to injury, the Cowboys found a way to get the 20-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2. Backup QB Cooper Rush was solid in his first start of the season, going 26-of-44 on his passes for 299 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, the Giants improved their record to 2-0 following a 19-16 win over the Carolina Panthers. It was a busy day for kicker Graham Gano, who had to make four field goals — including a 58-yarder — to help his team win.
Betting News has gathered the latest Cowboys vs Giants odds from BetOnline Sportsbook to help shed some light on the situation, along with a prediction and best bets for the NFL Week 3 game.

Dallas Cowboys vs New York Giants Prediction and Picks
Cowboys vs Giants Prediction: Giants 24, Cowboys 17
Cowboys vs Giants Picks: Giants -1.5 (Best Value: -110 at BetOnline) & Over 39.5 Points (Best Value: -110 at BetOnline)
A quick look at recent history reveals that the Cowboys have owned the Giants. In fact, Dallas has won 14 of its last 18 games against its NFC East rival, having only lost one meeting since the start of the 2017 NFL season.
Having said that, this isn’t the same Cowboys team as before. There’s no Prescott, so the passing game has taken a hit. The offensive line has looked awful due to key players like Connor McGovern and Tyron Smith being hurt. Even the defense hasn’t been as good as it was last year.
Meanwhile, the Giants look like a completely different team under head coach Brian Daboll. Their improved offensive line has not only given QB Daniel Jones more time to pass, but it’s also helped running back Saquon Barkley return to form, rushing for 236 yards and a TD on 39 carries over two games.
The Giants defense also looked solid in last week’s win, holding the Panthers to just 265 total yards of offense while forcing them to cough up two fumbles. Now, Carolina is far from a top-tier team, but the victory still proves that this New York team isn’t a pushover.
Even though the Cowboys won last week too, the Bengals look like a complete mess this year. Mike McCarthy’s had far from a perfect game, though, holding the ball for just 43.7% of the game while only scoring a field goal in the second half.
The fact of the matter is that the Cowboys just aren’t that good this year. Maybe the Giants aren’t either, but they sure look like the better team after two weeks. They’re playing with character and spunk, whereas the Cowboys don’t have that spark.
While history has favored the Cowboys in the past, I like the Giants’ odds of securing their second home win of the season. This is a new era for New York and defeating Dallas on home soil will help solidify that fact.
In addition to taking the Giants as 1.5-point favorites, I’m also taking the total hitting over 39.5 points at -110 odds. After all, the over has been hit in five of the last seven Cowboys vs Giants matchups and with the bright lights of Monday Night Football in full effect, look for it to happen again.
