The Green Bay Packers were one of the most disappointing teams in 2018, and they will be looking to turn things around this season. The Packers failed to make the playoffs a season ago, and it cost Mike McCarthy his job as head coach in Green Bay. Green Bay got swept by division rival Detroit, and also suffered a very embarrassing loss to the Arizona Cardinals. The Packers should be a playoff contender this season, but they definitely have plenty of areas to improve upon.
Green Bay finished the 2018 regular season with a record of 6-9-1, with their one tie coming in an early game against the Minnesota Vikings. The Packers finished in third place in the NFC North, which is not something they are accustomed to. Green Bay finished with the exact same 6-9-1 record against the spread a season ago.
Key Moves in Offseason
The biggest offseason move that the Green Bay Packers made this offseason was hiring Matt LaFleur as their new head coach. LaFleur has never been a head coach in the NFL but has an excellent reputation as a great offensive mind. The Packers did lose one of their key pieces this winter when linebacker Clay Matthews signed a contract with the Los Angeles Rams. Wide receiver Randall Cobb also left the team this winter to sign a deal with the Dallas Cowboys.

Key Players:
Aaron Rodgers: Aaron Rodgers remains the most important player on the Green Bay Packers roster, but he can’t win games on his own. Rodgers threw for over 4,440 yards a season ago and had just two interceptions all season long. There is no doubt that Rodgers is a future Hall of Famer, but he will need some help this season.
Aaron Jones: Jones led the Packers with 728 rushing yards a season ago, despite playing in just 12 games. He comes into the 2019 season as the starter, and the Packers need Jones to have a big year if they are going to make the playoffs.
Davante Adams: Adams has emerged as the top target for Aaron Rodgers, and put up huge numbers a season ago. Adams had 111 receptions for 1,386 yards, and also caught 13 touchdown passes. Rodgers to Adams will be a common theme in Green Bay this season.
Rookie Class: The Packers selected Michigan edge rusher Rashan Gary in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, and he is expected to make an impact right away. Guard Elgton Jenkins should battle for a starting position as a way to help protect Rodgers.

Predictions to Season/Bets to Make
The Green Bay Packers should have a much better 2019 season, but it’s hard to really get excited about this team. The Packers have a future Hall of Fame quarterback in Aaron Rodgers, but there are still plenty of holes on this roster. Green Bay has not been able to stop opponents in the last few seasons, and they just feel like the third-best team in the NFC North once again. The Packers just feel like an average team that is likely to finish the season with an 8-8 record. Bet the under 9.0 wins for the Green Bay Packers and take a pass on any of the other future bets.
