To preface any analysis, this game is difficult to interpret for a myriad of reasons that range from the lack of a data set to pull from and narrative plays. These two franchises have not faced off since 2022 when Giants prevailed 19-16. These international games get messy and this one may be the messiest of them yet. Yards and points, both teams give them up while failing to put them up, an absolute recipe for disaster.
The Giants one saving grace is their top ten passing defence that holds opponents to 191.6 yards per game — good for the 9th best passing defence in the NFL. This giants team loves to blitz as well so Bryce Young could be in for a long game. Furthermore, the New York Giants franchise is 3-0 in international games. New York comes into this game with Daniel Jones still under centre. Whether or not he will be a Giant come next season remains to be seen. He needs to return to weeks 2-4 where he and Malik Nabors were torching opposing defences. They have come out losers in four straight weeks. The change of scenery could help.
Carolina, on the other hand, is coming into this game having narrowly beating divisional rival New Orleans. They simply have one of the worst defences in the NFL. They rank 32 in numerous categories including third down percentage. This team does not just bend. They break. However, something tells me Carolina might answer the call in Europe.

The key players in this game are very interesting. Xavier Legette and Malik Nabors are two former first round picks that have shown promise. Tracy and Hubbard are later round backs that have proven they belong in the NFL getting plenty of touches. And finally, the quarterback matchup, both of these young men are trying to prove they deserve to start in the NFL. Many pundits do not believe in either. Bad defences, young weapons trying to feast on them, and two quarterbacks trying to prove it — and all of it in Germany. Should be fun.
Jaycee Horn is confident the tide is turning for the #Panthers:
“We’ve been down bad for a little while, but our time coming. So you might as well jump on the ship while you can, because once we start winning we ain’t taking a lot of new fans.”

Panthers Player Prop Bet: Chuba Hubbard o65.5 Rushing Yards (-115) BetOnline
From The Insiders: The #Panthers paid RB Chuba Hubbard, in part because he’s an example of what they want to be as a franchise. pic.twitter.com/2b7pBZodpo

I have been singing this man’s praises since last year. The Canadian kid is fresh off a lucrative extension in a landscape where franchises have been weary to pay backs. The Giants run defence is not stout ranking bottom ten. To add to this, Chuba has shown a propensity to be successful against defences that tend to blitz the drop back. The Giants blitz 27.5% per drop back. The pride of Sherwood Park, Alberta has two 100 yard rushing games against similar defensive schemes:
- Las Vegas Raiders 29% Blitz per drop back – Hubbard: 104 Rushing Yards
- Cincinnati Bengals 24.6% Blitz per drop back – Hubbard: 114 Rushing Yards
The Giants 28th ranked rushing defence is giving up 142.6 rushing yards per game. They also give up 5.2 yards per carry. I believe that while Bryce struggles with that blitz then the Panthers have to go to their freshly paid running back. Though, it should be noted that Bryce Young did not play in either the Raiders or Bengals game.
Chuba is not Derrick Henry or Detroit’s Gibbs, he lacks both the speed and power of either — what he does do is find the seams in the blitz packages. He’s savvy and hardworking.
If the return of the 46th overall pick Johnathon Brooks worries you then I would say it shouldn’t. Brooks was supposed to be healthy by training camp but still hasn’t played and is listed as questionable this week. The Panthers have said there is a possibility he plays. However, given his injury and draft position I doubt the Panthers rush him along in a lost season. Also, he would likely eat into Miles Sanders touches more than Chuba’s. Brooks was only activated from reserve because had he not been he would have been forced onto the IR for the rest of the season due to NFL rules.
Chuba Hubbard has gone over this line in 4 out his last 5 home games while averaging 83.0 Rushing yards per game but this isn’t really a home game. So, do with that what you will.
Giants Player Prop bet: Malik Nabors o78.5 Receiving yards (-114) BetOnline
It is safe to say the kid has lived up to the hype. Taking his yards against the Panthers seems like a set it and forget it. While his receptions and target share have been there the last 3 weeks, the yards simply haven’t been, and that should change in week 10. The Panthers secondary has difficulty answering the call against elite wide receivers and Nabors is just that.
Carolina is 25th is passing defence as they give up 232.6 yards per game in the air. The former sixth overall pick out of LSU should feast in this spot. Daniel Jones has shown he can help Nabors be elite and he needs to show us again in Germany. It does help that the emergence of Tyrone Tracy Jr. finally gives this Giants offence actual options to diversify their offence. That just means Nabors will get more room not that they will go away from their star. NFL week 10 should be a big one for the star rookie.
Bonus Bet for Peepin’ the Scribbles: Chuba Hubbard o2.5 Receptions (+110)
