Patriots vs. Jets Prediction & Best Bets: Take the Home Dog (NFL Week 8)

The 3-4 New England Patriots travel to MetLife stadium to take on the 5-2 New York Jets in an AFC East battle.

This Sunday, @nyjets (5-2) will play the Patriots (3-4) while Jets have a winning record and Pats have losing record for first time since Week 7 of 2000 season

The Patriots fell to the Bears in embarrassing fashion on Monday Night Football and left the game with more questions than answers.

QB Mac Jones returned and looked decent to start but the boo birds came out quickly when the Bears jumped out to a 10 point lead.

Jones then threw a pic and we didn’t see him again.

QB Bailey Zappe stepped in and made an immediate splash, leading 2 touchdown drives.

But the fun didn’t last long.

The Bears ran all over the Patriots and I could see that happening again this week in Met Life.

The Jets have just been winning.

It isn’t always pretty but they are disciplined, well-coached and play stout defense.

They lost rookie standout Brece Hall for the season to a torn ACL, which is blow.

Hall had just hit another gear and was a big play waiting to happen.

The Jets acted fast, though, and signed RB James Robinson from the Jaguars to fill their backfield hole.

Between Robinson and Michael Carter, the Jets will still run the ball with just as much venom and that will be the recipe this Sunday against their bitter rivals.

So, who will prevail in this AFC East affair?

Prediction

The Jets are being undervalued here once again and I am not sure why.

I get that it is Bill Belichick and the Pats are going to come into this one pissed off after a bad loss on a national stage, but I am buying into the Jets overall play more than the Pats emotions.

I have no clue who is starting for the Patriots on Sunday and I think that type of QB situation is never a good situation to have.

Whoever starts will be looking over their shoulder and that causes indecision or worse, forcing throws.

Give me the settled QB situation with Zach Wilson and the pesky defense with the points at home.
