See Picks & Statistics For The GameWeek 1 of the 2022 NFL season left football fans with many memorable moments. However, those are in the rearview mirror as Week 2 is set to begin on Thursday. One of the games to look forward to is an all-NFC West battle on Sunday between the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers.
The 49ers’ opening week didn’t go as planned. Despite being the heavy favorites, Kyle Shanahan’s squad came up short, losing 19-10 to the Chicago Bears. While poor weather played a factor in the loss, the 49ers must prove that they can be more organized than they were last week.
The Seahawks proved their doubters wrong in Week 1, pulling off an upset against the Denver Broncos to spoil Russell Wilson’s return. Geno Smith led the charge in the 17-16 victory, completing 23 passes for 195 yards with a pair of touchdowns.
Betting News has gathered the latest Seahawks vs. 49ers odds from Bovada Sportsbook to help shed some light on the situation, along with a prediction and best bets for the NFL Week 2 game.

Seattle Seahawks vs. San Francisco 49ers Prediction and Picks
Seahawks vs. 49ers Prediction: 49ers 21, Seahawks 13
Seahawks vs. 49ers Picks: Seahawks +8.5 (Best Value: -110 at Bovada Sportsbook) & Under 41 Points (Best Value: -110 at Bovada)
The Seahawks have had no trouble dominating the 49ers in recent years. As mentioned in the above trends, Seattle has won 15 of its last 17 encounters against San Francisco. For reference, the 49ers haven’t beaten their NFC West rivals since Week 17 of the 2019 NFL season.
The duo have played four games since the 49ers’ last win, with the Seahawks outscoring their foes 121-94 over that stretch.
Nevertheless, those victories occurred during the Seahawks’ Wilson era. Now, Smith is the quarterback and even though he got the victory last week, he’s still a downgrade from the former Super Bowl champion.
The 49ers are likely upset after last week’s result and will look to begin this game on the right foot. Quarterback Trey Lance certainly needs a bounce-back performance. He’s only made one game against Seattle in his career, going 9-of-18 on his passes for 157 yards and two TDs, also racking up 41 rushing yards on seven carries.
If the 49ers want to succeed, they must take advantage of the Seahawks’ injuries — especially on defense. Star safety Jamal Adams has already been ruled out of the contest (and possibly for the rest of the season), while names like defensive end Shelby Harris and S Quandre Diggs are questionable.
Even though the 49ers have lost running back Elijah Mitchell for the next few weeks, they still have playmakers like Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel to do damage against Seattle’s short-handed defense. Plus, there’s a chance that tight end George Kittle could suit up too after missing Week 1.
Having said that, San Francisco’s offense did look disorganized last week at times. I’ll chalk that up to the weather for now, but I still have doubts whether or not they can cover the 8.5-point spread. That’s why I’m taking the 49ers to win, but having the Seahawks cover the spread.
With a QB battle between Lance and Smith in the cards, I’m inclined to take the under on the 41-point total. Both teams combined for fewer points in their respective Week 1 tilts and I could see that happening again until proven otherwise.
