The Seattle Seahawks were a playoff team a season ago, and they have been one of the most consistently successful teams in the NFC over the past decade. The defense has seen a lot of talented players leave in recent seasons, but it appears that they have found plenty of young and worthy replacements. Seattle still has Pete Carroll at the helm, and he consistently puts a winning football team on the field.
Quarterback Russell Wilson has been paid handsomely by the organization, but he continues to be worth every single penny. The Seahawks are members of the NFC West Division, and the Los Angeles Rams are the overwhelming favorites to win it again this season.
The Seattle Seahawks finished the 2018 regular season with a record of 10-6 to qualify for the NFC Playoffs. Seattle had a short postseason run, losing to the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card round by a score of 24-22. The Seahawks were also great against the spread a season ago, finishing with a record of 10-5-2.
Key Moves in Offseason
The Seahawks defense let two more of their best players go following the 2018 season in safety Earl Thomas and cornerback Justin Coleman. The loss of both of these players will hurt a Seattle defense that was great a season ago. The Seahawks brought in left guard Mike Iupati in an effort to give Russell Wilson some more protection and signed defensive end Cassius Marsh to a one-year contract. The Seahawks will likely run the same systems and play the same style of football that has brought them so much success in recent years.

Key Players
Russell Wilson: Wilson threw for over 3,400 yards a season ago to go along with 35 touchdown passes. The Seahawks did allow Wilson to be sacked 51 times a season ago, which was way too many. If Wilson stays healthy and upright, the Seattle offense should put up points this season.
Chris Carson: Carson ran for 1,151 yards a season ago despite missing a pair of games. The Seahawks want to run the ball, and Carson should see plenty of touches this season.
Rookie Class: Wide receiver DK Metcalf was the Seahawks’ most exciting pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, and he could make an impact on offense. Defensive end L.J. Collier was the first-round pick by Seattle and could help improve the defense.

Predictions to Season/Bets to Make
Even though the defense continues to lose some of its best players, Seattle remains one of the top defensive units in the league. The Seahawks still have Russell Wilson leading the offense at quarterback, and they have one of the best home-field advantages in the NFL. Vegas has the win total at 8.5 wins for the Seahawks this season, and the over at -120 is definitely the smart pick. The Seahawks will find a way to win at least nine games this season and make a return to the playoffs. Seattle will be in the mix to win the NFC West, but that’s not a smart bet to make with the Los Angeles Rams returning much of their roster from a season ago.
