See Picks & Statistics For The GameWeek 7 of the 2022 NFL season is here as we near the campaign’s halfway point. The AFC takes over this week’s Sunday Night Football matchup as the Pittsburgh Steelers go one-on-one with the Miami Dolphins.
After suffering four straight losses, the Steelers shocked the world last week with a 20-18 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It was a game that saw rookie QB Kenny Pickett concussed, only to be replaced by Mitchell Trubisky, who threw for 144 passing yards and a touchdown on nine completions.
Meanwhile, the Tua Tagovailoa-less Dolphins suffered their third loss in a row by losing 24-16 to the Minnesota Vikings. Despite Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle combining for 306 receiving yards on 18 catches, Miami couldn’t find a way to get the job done.
Betting News has gathered the latest Steelers vs Dolphins odds from BetOnline Sportsbook to help shed some light on the situation, along with a prediction and best bets for the NFL Week 7 game.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs Miami Dolphins Prediction and Picks
Steelers vs Dolphins Prediction: Dolphins 26, Steelers 16
Steelers vs Dolphins Picks: Dolphins -7 (Best Value: -115 at BetOnline) & Under 44.5 Points (Best Value: -110 at BetOnline)
As much as they tried, backup QBs Teddy Bridgewater and Skylar Thompson haven’t been able to get the job done for the Dolphins. However, that could all change this week. Barring any setbacks, Miami is expected to have Tagovailoa under center for this week’s Sunday Night Football tilt.
With how well the likes of Hill and Waddle have been playing without their No. 1 quarterback, things should pick up. After all, the Dolphins averaged 27.7 points in the three games that Tagovailoa was able to complete, whereas they’ve yet to hit the 20-point mark in the games with them.
Some might be looking at the Steelers after their upset win over the Buccaneers, but I’m not sure if they can replicate that success. For starts, Tampa Bay’s shortcomings had a lot to do with its offensive line looking downright putrid at times.
I think that Miami’s o-line should provide a stiffer test, especially with them needing to do what they can to ensure that Tagovailoa doesn’t get hurt again. He’s only been sacked 1.3 times per game this season, which is a slightly better rate than last season (1.5).
I also don’t have much faith in the Steelers if Trubisky gets the start again. Sure, he led them to victory last week, but he’s only gone 78-of-128 on passing attempts this season for 797 yards and three TDs with two INTs in five appearances (four starts).
I could also see Pittsburgh’s defense having trouble in this Steelers vs Dolphins matchup. While they contained the Bucs, that was at home. The Steelers are surrendering 29.0 PPG on the road this season, ranking third-worst in the NFL.
Meanwhile, the Dolphins have only let in 16.7 PPG at Hard Rock Stadium this year, coming in at eighth-best in the league.
At the end of the day, I don’t see a world where the Steelers have the advantage here. Tagovailoa might be rusty out of the gate, but he should get better as the game goes on. Assuming his o-line protects him, I’m expecting a big day for the third-year gunslinger in front of a raucous home crowd.
Taking all that into consideration, I’m backing the Dolphins at -7 on the spread. They’ve covered the spread in four of their last five games against the Steelers, so I expect that trend to continue.
I’m also being a bit more conservative here by taking the under. There’s not much to like about a Trubisky-led offense and Miami might take things slow in Tagovailoa’s return. Plus the two sides have combined for the under in five of their last seven meetings at Hard Rock Stadium.
