See Picks & Statistics For The GameThe Houston Texans, the current front runner for the Number 1 pick in the draft, travel to Nashville to take on their AFC South rivals, the maligned Tennessee Titans in a Christmas Eve showdown.
This game might look like a landslide victory for the Titans but do the Texans have a chance to keep this one close?
Keep reading for analysis, my game prediction and my favorite prop for this matchup.
Let’s dive in!
A Titanic Amount of Injuries
The Titans lost their 4th game in a row for the first time in the Mike Vrabel era and while they are still 1st in the AFC South, their lead has been cut to one game with 3 games to go.
Most of the Titans woes stem from an insurmountable injuries, for the 2nd season in a row.
Here is the laundry list of injuries from the Wednesday injury report…
The Titans lead the league in players used for the 2nd year in a row and that has led to inconsistent and sometimes downright awful football.
Even given all the injuries and the paltry offensive play, the Titans can lock up their 3rd straight AFC South championship if they can win their last game of the season against the Jaguars.
That is not the story line for this game though, as it is dominated by the injury to Ryan Tannehill and his status for this week.
If Ryan Tannehill can’t got this week (which is looking likely) we will see Malik Willis at quarterback for the Titans for the second time this season.
Interestingly enough, Willis’ first start was against the Texans, in a win down in Houston.
Derrick Henry was a star that day against the Texans and it is looking like the Titans are going to need the same type of performance against the Texans to grab a much-needed AFC South win down the stretch.
With all the injuries and the Texans playing better football the past few weeks, will the Titans have enough to snag a victory at home?

Prediction
This pick is going to pain me but I have to go with the Texans and the points here.
The Titans are a different team without Ryan Tannehill at quarterback and given all the other injures, especially on defense, this game is going to be tight.
The Titans should lean heavily on Derrick Henry in this game, against one of the worst rushing defenses in the NFL.
If they do, they should pull out a victory. But I don’t see them having the offensive firepower to blow the Texans out of the water and win by a touchdown.
The Texans will hang around in this one, and make this a tight game.
Best Bet
Texans +4.5 (-115)
