See Picks & Statistics For The GameThursday Night Football kicks off Week 6 with hopefully a bit more style than last week’s Thursday Night stinker between the Colts and Broncos.
The 1-4 Washington Commanders make the short trip to Chicago to battle with the 2-3 Bears at Soldier Field. I want to have some optimism that this will be a better game than last Thursday Night, but I am not holding my breath.
Both of these teams are in early season desperation mode as they need wins.
The Commanders have dropped four straight, and lost a heartbreaker on the last play to the Titans last Sunday. Ron Rivera came out and criticized Carson Wentz after the game, saying the reason the Commanders are not competing in the NFC East is due to the lack of good quarterback play.
Yikes.
I get the point he is making but to publicly throw your QB under the bus like that makes for a lot of tension moving forward. The Commanders aren’t a bad football team but have choked in a few key moments and that’s all it takes in this league to lose games.
The Bears on the other hand have won one more game than the Commanders but don’t look much better.
The offense isn’t very good and Justin Fields has zero help around him, due to injuries and lack of personnel. But they have found a way to win games and they won their only other home game so far this season.

Even with this game having the potential to be a bit of a stinker, there are props that are definitely worth taking. As a reminder, I went 4/4 on my props last Thursday.
There is always value to find if you look hard enough. Hopefully I found it this week too. That being said, let’s start with the rookie Running back Brian Robinson.
BRIAN ROBINSON o48.5 RUSH YARDS (-106) CAESERS
GAMEDAY ODDS: o47.5 RUSH YARDS (-110)
This play is about two things.
1. The Bears have the second worst run D in the NFL, allowing just at 170 Yards per game.
2. Brian Robinson took the majority of the carries last week from Antonio Gibson in his first game back. He didn’t do much with the 9 carries, only totalling 22 yards. But it was against the Titans who have a pretty good run defense.
Those two things lead me to his line and feel very good about it. He is healthy, and the Bears can’t stop the run to save their life right now. I could see him having a break out game on a national stage.
Let’s capitalize on it.
On the other side, I found an under that is speaking to me. And I love it.
JUSTIN FIELDS u23.5 PASS ATTEMPTS (-106) CAESERS
GAMEDAY ODDS: u23.5 PASS ATTEMPTS (-125)
I love this play and it’s pretty simple.
Fields hasn’t gone over this number yet this season. He is prone to leave the pocket and run quite often which obviously takes away pass attempts, even if it was a passing play.
The Bears offensive line isn’t great which plays into this as well, allowing the 5th most sacks at 18. All of that lines up with Fields not having as many chances to throw the ball.
At -106, this is wonderful value on a number that hasn’t hit yet this year. I will gladly take those odds.
One more play here and this one is plus money, which is a great way to take us home.
DAVID MONTGOMERY o2.5 RECEPTIONS (+133) CAESERS
GAMEDAY ODDS: o2.5 RECEPTIONS (+125)
Montgomery is back after getting banged up in Week 3 and missing Week 4.
In the other three games when he started, he hit this two times. As I mentioned with Fields, this Bears offensive line is struggling right now in pass protection so I could see a lot of dump downs and screens to Montgomery.
He only needs to snag three of them for this to cash. I like those chances.
Let’s hope this game isn’t a snooze fest like last Thursday. I don’t have incredibly high hopes but hey, at least it can’t get any worse.
Right?
