See Picks & Statistics For The GameWeek 1 of the 2022 NFL season left football fans with many memorable moments. However, those are in the rearview mirror as Week 2 already kicked off on Thursday. One of the remaining games to look forward to is a Monday Night Football showdown between the Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles.
The Vikings surprised a lot of people to open the 2022 NFL season, scoring a 23-7 upset victory over the Green Bay Packers. Third-year wide receiver Justin Jefferson couldn’t be contained in the win, turning nine receptions into 184 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
The Eagles also began their schedule with a bang, walking out of Week 1 with a 38-35 win against the Detroit Lions Philadelphia’s own No. 1 WR, A.J. Brown, was a treat to watch in his team debut, finishing with 155 receiving yards on 10 catches.
Betting News has gathered the latest Vikings vs. Eagles odds from BetOnline Sportsbook to help shed some light on the situation, along with a prediction and best bets for the NFL Week 2 game.

Minnesota Vikings vs. Philadelphia Eagles Prediction and Picks
Vikings vs. Eagles Prediction: Eagles 24, Vikings 21
Vikings vs. Eagles Picks: Eagles -1.5 (Best Value: -112 at BetOnline) & Under 50.5 Points (Best Value: -110 at BetOnline)
As you can tell by the 1.5-point spread, the upcoming Vikings vs. Eagles Week 2 clash could go either way. Minnesota’s -134 odds on the moneyline translate to an implied probability of 57.3%.
I’m expecting both teams’ passing games to put on quite the show. The Vikings did surrender 260 passing yards to the Packers last weekend, which is promising for Brown. He’s now recorded 142-plus receiving yards in back-to-back games and has surpassed 130 in five of his last 10.
The Eagles will also try to get the ball more to sophomore WR DeVonta Smith. Despite seeing four targets in Week 1, he didn’t catch any of them. Fortunately, Minnesota’s defense could be weaker if cornerback Andrew Booth Jr. is forced to miss the game.
Philadelphia’s secondary only gave up 215 receiving yards last week, but don’t count on an encore performance due to Jefferson’s presence. He’s averaged over 116 receiving yards in his last 10 games, also finding the end zone eight times over that stretch.
If the passing attack fails, the Vikings can always turn to Dalvin Cook in the backfield. The Eagles allowed the Lions to rush for 181 yards, which is promising for Cook after racking up 90 rushing yards on 20 carries.
At the end of the day, I expect the Eagles’ defense to play better than last week. Philadelphia made some serious defensive improvements this offseason and I expect those to pay off on Monday.
I also predict that the Vikings’ defense last week wasn’t a fluke. Even if Booth misses the game, it can’t be denied that Minnesota shut Green Bay down last week. While the Eagles do have more playmakers than the Packers at the moment, don’t be surprised if they don’t score 38 points as they did against a weak Lions defensive unit.
I expect the Eagles to walk out with the hard-fought victory here. It’ll be a close game, however, the home crowd will give Philadelphia a boost. It also shouldn’t be too tough to cover the 1.5-point spread — something the Eagles have done in six of their last 10 games against the Vikings.
Five of the last six Vikings-Eagles games played in Philadelphia have finished with the under. Since I predict that both defenses will step up, let’s go with under 50.5 points on BetOnline as well.
