Vikings vs. Dolphins Prediction & Picks (NFL Week 6)

The 4-1 Minnesota Vikings travel to South beach to take on the 3-2 Miami Dolphins.
The Vikings are coming off a win against the underwhelming Chicago Bears that got closer than the Vikings would’ve liked. But a win is a win and the Vikings are sitting pretty atop the NFC North.
Kirk Cousins has been great to start the year and has continued his dominant connection with Justin Jefferson. Jefferson is leading the league in yards with 547 and is second in catches with 40.
Pair that with Dalvin Cook, who is top 10 in rushing yards and you have a dynamic one-two punch.
On the other side, the Dolphins are in an interesting position, after a smack down by the Jets, 40-17.
Obviously the score is a bit deceiving considering that Teddy Bridgewater was forced out with a head injury, which made the Dolphins resort to their 3rd String QB, 7th round rookie Skyler Thompson for the entire game.
That usually spells disaster and in this case, it certainly did. The Dolphins offensive system, put in place by Mike McDaniels, relies on precise timing and deep knowledge of the playbook.
If those things don’t exist, for whatever reason, the team will suffer and the offense will be pretty vanilla. It is looking like Bridgewater should be back this week, with Tua Tagovailoa almost certainly missing again, so there is hope the offense can return to a bit more of its usual self this week.
This is definitely a situation worth monitoring during the week as it will impact the game severely. Either way, the line feels right given the current form of both of these teams.

PREDICTION
As I mentioned earlier, this line could shift quite a bit if Bridgewater ends up not being able to play due to the Concussion protocol. Given the current line, he is on track to play which should make this game closer and more competitive.
Either way, I feel comfortable taking the Vikings and the 3 points here. They are playing better football right now and I think Cousins and the offense take advantage of the Dolphins and win by 4+.
Getting the lower number is great here because if Bridgewater isn’t cleared to play, this line could jump up a couple points, close to 7. As I mentioned, keep an eye on it but I am going to get in early and reap the benefits.

PROPS
DALVIN COOK o77.5 RUSH YARDS (-114) FANDUEL
Dalvin has been super consistent for the Vikings so far this year. He is healthy and looked excellent last week, rushing for 94 yards and 2 tds.
He has gone over 78 yards in three of five games this year, with one of the misses being 76 yards.
He had over 17 carries in all of those games as well so he will get his chances. Love this spot.
RAHEEM MOSTERT o60.5 RUSH YARDS (-115) CAESARS
Raheem Mostert is the lead back now in Miami and has been running with rigor the past 2 weeks. He has gone over 61 yards the past week and has had 15+ carries both weeks.
Rookie Skylar Johnson is set to start this week at quarterback and I can’t see a way that Head Coach Mike McDaniels doesn’t want to lean on Mostert and the run game to help the rookie out.
