Saints vs Falcons NFL Week 4 Predictions & Picks (9/29)
Both of these rivals could use a win on Sunday with the NFC South looking tighter than ever.
The Saints are hoping to rebound from a 15-12 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3. New Orleans nearly picked up the victory, however, it couldn’t hold on as Saquon Barkley scored a touchdown with one minute remaining to give Philadelphia the comeback win.
Meanwhile, the Falcons fell 22-17 to the Kansas City Chiefs last weekend. Atlanta could’ve walked away with the win, however, some questionable play-calling decisions caused Raheem Morris’ team to fall below .500 for the second time this season.
When it comes to the rivalry between these teams, the Saints are 4-1 SU in their last five meetings with the Falcons. Having said that, it was Atlanta that notched a 24-15 home win over New Orleans last season before the latter got revenge with a 48-17 victory in Week 18.
Will the Falcons achieve rare success against the Saints in Week 4?
It’s going to be interesting to see if the Falcons can match the Saints’ offense this weekend. New Orleans is averaging 34.3 points (2nd) and 343.3 total yards (9th) per game and has already scored 40-plus points twice through three weeks. Meanwhile, the Falcons rank T-26th (16.3 PPG) and 20th (307.3 YPG) in those categories, respectively.
Defensively, the Saints are also among the top teams, only allowing 14.7 PPG (5th) and 335.3 YPG (21st). While the Falcons’ attack exactly struck fear into anyone’s heart, the defense is allowing a respectable 20.3 PPG (T-13th) and 326.7 YPG (18th).
Nevertheless, the Falcons struggle to stop the ball on the ground, which is an area where the Saints excel. Atlanta is allowing the fifth-most rushing yards per game ahead of Week 4, which is bad news given that New Orleans averages the sixth-most ground yards on the third-most carries per game.
In other words, don’t be surprised if Alvin Kamara and the rest of the Saints backfield feasts this weekend.
Will the Saints’ intimidating run game be the difference against the Falcons in Week 4?
After some thought, I predict that the Saints will defeat the Falcons this weekend. Atlanta’s offense hasn’t been anything to write home about thus far and I think that Kirk Cousins & Co. will struggle to keep up with the opposition’s attack — especially if the New Orleans defense remains consistent.
With the Saints being the clear-cut better team, I’m taking them on the moneyline before moving on to this game’s player prop pick.

Best Saints vs Falcons NFL Week 4 Player Prop
Based on how he’s played to begin the 2024 NFL season, it’s a no-brainer to back Alvin Kamara o66.5 rushing yards (-114) for the best Saints vs. Falcons player prop.
Kamara has crushed this prop, averaging 95.0 rushing yards while hitting the Over in each of his first three games to start the campaign. The 29-year-old running back is likely licking his chops at the thought of facing the Saints, who are a bottom-five team in terms of run defense this season.
Additionally, the Over is 3-1 in Kamara’s last four games against the Falcons — a span where he’s averaging 86.3 rushing yards per game.
Best Saints vs. Falcons Player Prop: Alvin Kamara o66.5 Total Rushing Yards (-114)
