Broncos vs Saints NFL Week 7 TNF Predictions & Picks (10/17)
The Broncos are looking to get back on track tonight after last week’s 23-16 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers ended their win streak at three games. A 23-0 deficit at the start of the fourth quarter was too much for Denver to handle, leaving time to tell if Sean Payton’s team can get off to a better start at Caesars Superdome.
Meanwhile, the Saints are hoping to return to the win column for the first time in a long time. After a 2-0 start to the campaign, the Saints were handed a fourth straight defeat in the form of a 51-27 stomping at the hands of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. New Orleans’ defense couldn’t stop a nosebleed that game as it allowed a whopping 594 total yards across 14 drives.
The Saints have now surrendered an average of 34.3 points across the last three games, which is the third-most league-wide during that stretch. Conversely, the Broncos allowed 16.7 PPG in their previous three outings — good for the third-best mark.
With Derek Carr (oblique) being doubtful to play tonight, Saints backup QB Spencer Rattler will draw his second consecutive start. The former 2024 fifth-rounder wasn’t too impressive in his NFL debut, completing just 55.0% of passes for 243 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions while being sacked five times and fumbling the ball once.
How will Saints QB Spencer Rattler perform in his second-ever NFL start?
Meanwhile, Broncos rookie QB Bo Nix is starting to come into his own. The ex-Oregon signal-caller has gone 50-of-85 (58.8%) in the pocket throughout his last three appearances for 482 passing yards with five TDs to just one interception. He also owns an 89.4 passer rating during that stretch.
Fortunately, for Nix, the Saints are surrendering the fourth-most passing yards per game to begin the 2024 season. Pro Football Focus also lists New Orleans as being the fourth-worst team against the run, which means Broncos RB Javonte Williams could see plenty of activity out of the backfield.
And as far as history goes, the Broncos have won five of their last six games against the Saints, as well as four of their five previous trips to New Orleans. In fact, the Saints haven’t beaten the Broncos at home since 1988.
The Broncos have had the Saints’ number for decades. Will that trend continue tonight?
After taking the above into consideration, I’m predicting a Broncos victory tonight. Not only have they been the much better team lately, but the Broncos have also proven that they can handle the Saints — especially in New Orleans. As long as Denver’s defense keeps performing at a high level, the rest will fall into place — especially if New Orleans can’t keep the former out of the end zone.
As for the best bet, we’ll take the Broncos to cover the spread. They’re 4-2 ATS to begin the season, which includes a 3-0 ATS record on the road. Meanwhile, the Saints are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 home games and have been outscored by an average of 10.5 points in their last four outings.

Best Broncos vs Saints NFL Week 7 TNF Player Prop
After looking through the available Broncos vs. Saints TNF player props, I’m taking Bo Nix to throw for over 194.5 passing yards (-120) as the best option.
Even though he hasn’t been perfect every week, Nix has been fairly consistent as far as this prop is concerned. While the 24-year-old QB is only averaging 188.8 passing yards in his last five outings, that average was brought down by his 60-yard performance in Week 4. In the other four games, Nix threw for at least 206 passing yards each time — including when he finished with 216 last week.
As mentioned before, the Saints are allowing the fourth-most passing yards per game and just surrendered 317 to the Buccaneers last week. Considering how New Orleans has now allowed the Over in five straight games, it’s safe to ride with Nix tonight.
