The offense has been nowhere to be found during the Blackhawks’ last five road games. They’ve been outscored 23-10 over that stretch and were even shut out once. It doesn’t help that the power play is 1-of-16 (6.3%) in those contests, having gone four straight road games without a goal.

Having said that, I’m actually backing the Blackhawks at +2.5 on the spread. Although the Stars are capable of blowing out their Central Division rival, a lack of offense lately has me doubting that they can win by three-plus goals.

The over is also 9-1 in the last 10 Blackhawks vs Stars meetings, so there’s a good chance that there’ll be some fireworks tonight. They’ve combined for more than six goals in four of their last five meetings, so I don’t see any reason why they can’t do it again tonight.
