See Picks & Statistics For The GameThe Colorado Avalanche host the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday night in Game 5 of the series. Colorado leads the series 3-1 after taking both games in St. Louis.
Nazem Kadri was the story in Game 4. After he collided with St. Louis goaltender Jordan Binnington, in Game 3, Kadri was receiving threats on social media from the St. Louis faithful. He wasn’t phased.
In Game 4, Kadri recorded a hat trick, and he lead the team to a tough road win in a hostile environment. The Avalanche now have an opportunity to close out the series in front of their home fans and advance to the Western Conference Final.
The Avalanche are heavy favorites at home in Game 5. They will still be facing St. Louis’ backup goalie, Ville Husso. They had success scoring on him in Game 4, and it will be tough sledding for the Blues to crawl out of a 3-1 series deficit.

Colorado’s Hot Hand
Nazem Kadri has been a thorn in the side of the St. Louis Blues this season. He has points in 6 of the 7 games played so far against the Blues.
Kadri also has 6 goals against St. Louis, including his hat trick in Game 4. He is all around the net, which is the main reason the Blues aren’t a fan of him.
There is still controversy as to whether Kadri ran into Jordan Binnington on purpose in Game 3. The St. Louis netminder will not return during this series, which gives a large advantage to the Avalanche.
According to Kadri, it was just a play for the puck and he was jumping at an opportunity to score. Either way, his play has ignited the Colorado offense, and they are in a comfortable spot as they head back home for Game 5.
Colorado has continued to show why they are the favorite to win the cup this year. Their defense is holding the Blues to minimal shot attempts, and the offense is striking in bunches.
The Avalanche have only lost one game this postseason. After that loss, they are 2-0 and have outscored St. Louis 11-5. Look for Colorado to continue their winning ways on Wednesday to advance to. the Conference Final.
Blues vs Avalanche Prediction and Best Bets
Blues vs. Avalanche Prediction: Avalanche 4 Blues 2
Blues vs. Avalanche Best Bets: Avalanche -1.5 (-103 at BetUS and -106 at BetOnline)
The Avalanche proved in Game 4 that even if your backup goaltender is solid, they will make you pay. They return home to familiar territory, and I expect trends to continue. The Avalanche have won each of their last nine games following a road win, so they aree the best bet at -1.5.
