The Vegas Golden Knights aim to take a 3-1 series lead when they face the Edmonton Oilers in Wednesday, May 10’s Game 4 clash. The two sides have alternated wins to begin the Oilers vs Golden Knights series, leaving time to tell if Edmonton can continue the trend to avoid returning to Vegas with a two-game deficit.
The Golden Knights won Game 3 in a convincing fashion, picking up a 5-1 victory at Rogers Place. Jack Eichel shined with one goal and a pair of assists while Jonathan Marchessault scored his first two goals of the postseason. It wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows, though, as Vegas lost starting goaltender Laurent Brossoit to a lower-body injury.
Can the Golden Knights win their second straight matchup to force an elimination game on home ice? Or will the Oilers put their latest loss in the rearview mirror in an effort to even the series?
Here’s a look at everything you know heading into Game 4 of the Golden Knights vs Oilers series, from the latest betting odds to a prediction with the best betting recommendation.

Golden Knights vs Oilers Game 4 Preview
Even though momentum isn’t on their side, the Oilers are still in a good position to bounce back tonight. After all, they haven’t lost back-to-back games in nearly three months. Long story short, they know how to bounce back from adversity.
If they’re going to even the second-round series, the Oilers must take advantage of the Golden Knights’ goaltending situation. It’s looking extremely likely that Brossoit won’t be starting in Game 4. Although the veteran netminder played to a sub-.900 save percentage in his last three outings, his absence is still a huge loss.
All signs point to backup Adin Hill taking Brossoit’s spot in the crease tonight. The 26-year-old has been flawless in 68 minutes played during the playoffs, stopping all 28 shots he faced. He was also solid during the regular season, going 16-7-1 with a .915 SV% and 2.45 goals-against average over 25 starts.
Speaking of goaltenders, it’ll be interesting to see who the Oilers roll with in Game 4. Stuart Skinner was pulled after surrendering four goals on 23 shots Monday night, giving him a .888 SV% and 3.60 GAA in nine postseason appearances.
Taking that into consideration, Golden Knights vs Oilers Game 4 just might feature Jack Campbell starting for Edmonton. The former 2010 first-rounder struggled during the regular season but has backstopped his way to a .947 SV% and 1.53 GAA in 79 postseason minutes.
The Oilers are going to try and build off the areas where they did excel in Game 3. For example, they won the faceoff battle (32-30) and doubled the Golden Knights’ hit total (50-25).
On top of that, Edmonton only turned the puck over seven times, whereas Vegas ended the night with 16 giveaways. If the Oilers keep up the forecheck pressure, the results will fall into place.
Something else that points to the Oilers bouncing back is their past success at Rogers Place — especially when it comes to in-conference play. After all, they’re a whopping 31-17 straight up as the favorite against fellow Western Conference teams. Meanwhile, the Golden Knights are 11-7 straight up as underdogs against their conference.
The Oilers and Golden Knights have proven that they can flip the switch on each other at a moment’s notice. Vegas could win its second straight game just as easily as Edmonton can blow out the competition on home ice.
In other words, you won’t want to miss this game.
Golden Knights vs Oilers Game 4 Prediction and Picks
Golden Knights vs Oilers Prediction: Oilers 5, Golden Knights 4
Golden Knights vs Oilers: Golden Knights +1.5 (Best Value: -152 at BetOnline) & Over 6.5 Goals (Best Value: -152 at BetOnline)
Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and the rest of the Oilers are more than talented enough to tie the series tonight. The Golden Knights are vulnerable due to their goaltending situation and I see the home team capitalizing on that. Having said that, Vegas is still talented at both ends of the ice and will keep things close, hence why I’m backing Bruce Cassidy’s team on the spread.
With Vegas forced to turn to Hill and Edmonton’s goaltending situation being murky, I recommend taking the over on the 6.5-goal total. The Golden Knights vs Oilers series has averaged 7.3 goals per game thus far, finishing with at least six in all three. There’s also enough offensive talent on each side that this game could easily become a barn-burner, making the over the most logical choice.
