Hurricanes vs. Lightning Prediction: Riding with the Bolts (11/3/2022)

The 6-2-1 Carolina Hurricanes travel to Tampa Bay to take on the 6-4 Lightning in an Eastern Conference clash.

The Hurricanes have been playing really well to start the season, winning 3 of the last 4 games.

Centerman Sebastian Aho has been great to start the season, with 10 points in their first 9 games.

Goaltender Fredrik Andersen has also started the season really well between the pipes, going 4-2 and recording a .898 save percentage.

On the other side, the Lightning have been very hit and miss to start the season, looking excellent in some games and fairly pedestrian in others.

They have won 3 straight games but had to come from behind to get victories in all 3, against the Ducks, Sharks and Senators.

Captain Steven Stamkos has been awesome to start the year (more on him later) and Goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy has been good as well, starting 4-3.

His save percentage and numbers aren’t as great as they have been in previous years, but if you watch the Lightning play, he makes 2-3 incredible, game-changing saves every game.

He will need to more of that tonight at home against the Canes.

Prediction

I love the Lightning tonight. I am going to trust them to get the job done at home, even after a shaky start to the season.

They have rallied the last few games and have started to play way better hockey on both ends of the ice.

Andrei Vasilevskiy should hold down the fort tonight and Steven Stamkos and Nakita Kucherov and co. will produce on the other end to get the W.

The value is too good on Stamkos today to not take.

He has been on fire to start the season and just had 7 SOGs last game.

He hasn’t done historically well against the Canes in past seasons, but with how involved he is in the offense and on the power play, I love the value.
