The Winnipeg Jets and Colorado Avalanche are both searching for the series lead when they collide for Game 3 of their first-round NHL playoff series on Friday, April 26.

The Avalanche evened the series with a massive 5-2 win over the Jets in Game 2. Five different Colorado players found the back of the net as Alexandar Georgiev turned aside 28 of the 30 shots he faced in a bounce-back effort.
Does Colorado have what it takes to win back-to-back contests? Or will Winnipeg take the series lead on the road?
As usual, Game 3 will be filled with betting opportunities you won’t want to miss. With that in mind, here are my Jets vs. Avalanche predictions and best NHL bets,

Jets vs Avalanche NHL Game 3 Predictions & Pick (4/26)
All eyes are on the Jets to see if they can regain some momentum on the road. Winnipeg looked decent at times in Game 2, even leading 2-1 past the halfway point of the second period. Unfortunately, that’s when things came undone as Rick Bowness’s team surrendered three goals in the final six minutes of the second, putting them in a deficit that they couldn’t battle back from.
Needless to say, the Jets need a more complete effort if they want to win Game 3. Even after losing Game 1, the Avalanche have looked like the better team in this series more often than not. Since the third period of the series-opening tilt, Colorado has outscored Winnipeg 8-3.
If the Jets want to get back into things, Vezina Trophy favorite Connor Hellbuyck must be better. After playing to a 2.39 goals-against average and .921 save percentage during the regular season, the veteran netminder is sitting at a 5.04 GAA and .870 SV% following Games 1 and 2.
Jets G Connor Hellebuyck can’t afford another lackluster performance.
As for the Avalanche, they’re hoping for more of the same from Georgiev following Tuesday’s solid performance. The Russian goaltender has played well at home lately, going 10-3-1 with a .278 GAA and .905 SV% in his last 15 appearances at Ball Arena.
Playing on the road isn’t easy, but the Jets have won four of their last five road games ahead of tonight’s affair. They’re even 3-1 SU in their last four trips to Denver, outscoring the Avs 17-9 on aggregate.
But even with that success, the Jets are only 3-5 SU as the underdog in Central Division tilts this season. Conversely, the Avalanche are 15-9 SU as the favorite against their divisional rivals.
The Jets typically struggle as underdogs against fellow Central Division teams.
Even though I expect to see a better effort from the Jets, let’s take the Avalanche to win. Again, Colorado has been the better team for the majority of this series and a return to Ball Arena will only amplify that fact. Unless Hellebuyck returns to his Vezina-calibre form, we could have another lopsided tilt on our hands.
But regardless of who wins, I expect to see the Over on the 6.5-goal total being hit. After all, this series is already featuring an average of 10.0 goals per game. The Over is also 8-1 in Colorado’s last nine games and 5-0 in Winnipeg’s last five.
With the last seven Jets-Avs matchups at Ball Arena averaging 7.7 G/PG, it’s never been easier to like the Over.

Best Jets vs Avalanche NHL Game 3 Player Prop (4/26)
As for tonight’s best prop bet, I have my eyes on the Under for Nathan MacKinnon’s 4.5-shot total (-108).
[su_icon icon="icon: check-circle" background="#F4F7FC" color="#2FBB9C" text_color="#1F2933" size="16" shape_size="4" radius="256" text_size="14" url="" margin="0"] $10 Cash Bonus with code "BNEWS" [/su_icon]

Even though he’s one of the best offensive players in the NHL, MacKinnon hasn’t been generating a ton of chances lately. The two-time All-Star center has finished with the Under on this prop in each of his last five games, averaging 3.0 shots on goal during that stretch. In fact, he’s also finished with four or fewer SOG in six of his last seven encounters with Winnipeg.
I still expect MacKinnon to make an impact tonight, but it likely won’t be in the form of a high shot total.
