See Picks & Statistics For The GameThe Los Angeles Kings roll into Vegas to take on the Golden Knights in a crucial Pacific Division showdown. Puck Drop is at 10:00PM Eastern so this is definitely a late night sweat for those interested.
The Knights currently sit atop the entire Western Conference with 104 points and 4 games to play. They are just one point ahead of the Edmonton Oilers, who have three games remaining.
The Kings are 3rd overall in the conference and 3rd in the division boasting 100 total points. With a win tonight, the Kings could put themselves in a great spot. They would be a point behind the Edmonton Oilers for 2nd in the Pacific, and just two points behind the Knights for first.
This game simply could not be more important for either team.

Los Angeles Kings Last 5 Games
Vegas Golden Knights Last 5 Games
Head to Head
Over the regular season, these two teams have already faced off on three separate occasions. The Knights stole the first matchup 4-3 on the road in the opening game of the season. The Kings took the next two, one at home in December and the other in Vegas on January 7th.
Now these teams go head to head with big seeding implications on the line. The Kings could get within two points of the 1st place Knights with just three games to play if they pull off a win tonight. But can big, bad Vegas be stopped at home?
Picks and Predictions
The Knights have only beaten the Kings once this season, and they did so against Jonathon Quick, who now plays in Vegas. Tonight they will face Joonas Korpisalo in net, who has been putting up great numbers since moving to LA.
In just 8 games with the Kings, Korpisalo is 5-2-1, allowing just 1.75 goals per game, and boasting a Save Percentage of 93.7%. However the Knights are electric on offense and know how much this game means.
In their Last 15, the Knights have won 10 games and lost 5. They are scoring 3.73 Goals per game, but they are giving up just over 3 per game as well. Obviously they want the top spot in the West, so I like them to come out firing tonight in front of their home crowd.
I side with Vegas, but I really hate laying juice, so I will be taking the Vegas Golden Knights in Regulation at +130 on BetMGM. Just a standard 1 unit play to win 1.3 units.
Player Prop of the Game
I will be targeting none other than Knight’s Defensemen, Alex Pietrangelo in this matchup tonight. However, I’m not going to take his Shots on Goal, despite him having 9 on 14 attempts two days ago.
The Los Angeles Kings rank in the bottom 10 in Penalty Kill%, and are 26th in PowerPlay Goals Against. In their three previous games, the Kings have given the Knights 11 PowerPlay opportunities in which they’ve scored twice.
I think they get some chances tonight and take advantage.
Pietrangelo plays on the first PP line, and is great at finding guys in the slot, or letting it rip from the blue line. He’s gotten a point in two of the three games against the Kings this season, and he’s been playing well recently.
He has a point in three of his last five, 7 of his last 10, and 10 of his last 15 games.
Because of this and the fact that I think Vegas wins, I like Pietrangelo over 0.5 Points (-116) on BetOnline.
