Tuesday’s NHL schedule is a light one with only five games lined up for April 12. One of those matchups is a Pacific Division clash as the Seattle Kraken (31-30-13) are set to visit the rival Los Angeles Kings (38-25-11) at 9:30 p.m. ET.

The Kraken are on the hunt for their fourth win in five games following Monday’s 4-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks. Meanwhile, the Kings’ losing streak was extended to three games as they fell 4-3 to the Winnipeg Jets to begin the week.
Will Seattle find more success tonight? Or will Los Angeles finally figure out how to snap out of its losing ways?
Let’s talk about it as we dive into my Kraken vs. Kings NHL prediction and best bets for the evening.

Kraken vs Kings NHL Prediction & Pick (4/3): Season Series Finale Edition
Tonight’s collision is the Kraken-Kings series finale for the 2023-24 regular season. The first two contests were close ones as the Kings notched a 3-2 shootout victory in Seattle on Dec. 16 before the Kraken squeaked out with a 2-1 win at cyrpto.com Arena just four days later.
Although this year’s series has been even, Seattle has had Los Angeles’ number more often than not over the last few years. The Kraken are 5-2-1 in their last eight encounters with the Kings, which includes four consecutive victories on the road.
Don’t count on the Kings just rolling over tonight, though. They are an impressive 8-1 SU across their last nine home games, outscoring their opponents 32-17 on aggregate with a pair of shutout wins. In fact, they’ve won four straight home games by an average of 3.5 goals heading into tonight’s clash.
The Kraken have won five of their last seven road games, which is solid, but it’s important to point out that it did lose back-to-back away outings before beating the league-worst Sharks on Monday.
The Kings have been near-unstoppable at home lately.
When it comes to special teams, the Kings have the advantage. Although the visitor’s power-play percentage (21.2%, 15th) isn’t too far off from the home team (22.4%, 12th), Los Angeles ranks second on the penalty kill (84.6%) whereas Seattle sits in a tie for 17th at 79.3%.
I imagine that the Kings will be more motivated to win this game, too. They currently occupy the Western Conference’s final wild-card spot, sitting three points ahead of the St. Louis Blues. While the Kraken aren’t mathematically eliminated from postseason contention yet, they trail the Kings by a whopping 12 points with only eight games remaining.
If the Kings want to improve their playoff positioning, Cam Talbot must bet better between the pipes. The veteran netminder finished with a sub-.900 save percentage in three of his last four starts, playing to a 3.06 goals-against average and .878 save percentage.
The Kraken’s Joey Daccord hasn’t been perfect lately, losing five of his last eight appearances. At the same time, those losses had more to do with a lack of offensive support considering how Daccord backstopped his way to a 2.20 GAA and .911 SV% during that stretch.
Kraken G Joey Daccord has played well lately despite a lack of offensive support from his team.
All bad trends eventually end, hence why I’m going with a Kings win tonight. Yes, they’ve lost three consecutive games, but each defeat came on the road. A return to crypto.com Arena should give the Kings a major boost, especially when you consider that the Kraken’s latest road performances haven’t been all that impressive. Motivated by potential playoff success, look for Los Angeles to get the job done.
Additionally, I’m inclined to back the Under on the 5.5-goal total. After all, five of the last six meetings between these Pacific Division rivals finished with fewer than 5.5 goals. The only outing that didn’t was when they combined for 17 goals on Nov. 29, 2022, which likely won’t happen again any time soon.
With the Under also being 8-3 in Seattle’s last 11 road games and 8-4 in Los Angeles’ 12 previous meetings with a West team, I don’t anticipate a ton of offense this evening.

Best Kraken vs Kings NHL Player Prop (4/3)
Let’s have some fun with this Kraken vs. Kings player prop pick by going with Adrian Kempe to record over 3.5 shots on goal.
[su_icon icon="icon: check-circle" background="#F4F7FC" color="#2FBB9C" text_color="#1F2933" size="16" shape_size="4" radius="256" text_size="14" url="" margin="0"] $10 Cash Bonus with code "BNEWS" [/su_icon]

Even though he’s been a streak goal-scorer lately, Kempe has still generated a ton of offense, averaging 4.0 shots on goal in his last 15 games. The former 2014 first-rounder finished with the Over eight times in those games, including in four of his last seven home outings.
If that isn’t convincing enough, Seattle is also along the ninth-most SOG to right wings over the last 10 games. Considering how Kempe finished with five shots the last time that the Kings hosted the Kraken, I feel great about this prop.
