See Picks & Statistics For The GameThe Seattle Kraken and Colorado Avalanche travel back to Denver to face off in Game 5 of the first round. The series is tied up 2-2 with each team stealing one on the road from their opponent.
The defending Stanley Cup Champions do not want their repeat campaign to end early, so they will be giving everything in the tank to win tonight before going back to Seattle for Game 6.

Kraken vs Avalanche Series Recap
Games 1 and 2 in Denver
The Kraken surprised everyone when they were able to pull off the upset in Denver in Game 1. They held the Avs to just 1 goal on their way to a 3-1 victory.
It looked as if they would continue the streak in Game 2, going up 2-0 before the end of the 1st Period. However Colorado wasn’t going to lose twice at home. A pair of goals less than 60 seconds apart in the 2nd period tied it up, and Devon Toews scored the only goal of the 3rd to bring it home for the Avalanche.
Games 3 and 4 in Seattle
The 1st period of Game 3 was a thriller. We saw Seattle break out to a 1-0 lead, only for it to fizzle away with less than four minutes to go. The Avs went into the 1st intermission up 2-1, but the game was far from over.
Cale Makar scored to open the 2nd period, extending their lead to 2 goals. However, the Kraken were able to tie it up with their own pair of quick goals, less than 2o seconds apart! In the 3rd, the Avs got two quick ones, plus an empty netter late in the game and went on to win 6-4.
Game 4 was even more exciting.
The Kraken jumped out to a 2-0 lead after 1, but the Avs didn’t give up. Mikko Rantanen scored a pair in the 2nd to even things up. After a scoreless 3rd, we headed to OT, where Jordan Eberle netted the game winner just three minutes into the extra period.
And so, we go to tonight’s game. Game 5, tied up at two games a piece.

Kraken vs Avalanche Best Bets
SEA/COL 1P Over 1.5 (-118) BetOnline
Normally, I’m a guy that likes to sweat out the under in the first two minutes. However, this stats simply back this one up.
In seven games against each other this year, the Avalanche and Kraken have had 4/7 games go over this number in the 1P. All four have been in this playoff series.
The first two regular season matchups saw scoreless 1st periods, while the last matchup saw just 1 goal by the Avs. But the story has been different in the playoffs.
We have seen this number hit all 4 times. We had a 1-1 tie, two 2-0 Kraken leads, and a 2-1 Avalanche lead heading into the 1st intermission. Combined, these two teams have put up 95 SOGs in the 1st period, averaging 23.75 1P SOGs per game. The Kraken alone are putting up over 13 in the 1P.
Not to mention, last game, we saw 29 shots on goal in the first two minutes.
I like this 1P to go over 1.5.
