Lightning vs. Panthers Prediction, Odds & Picks – 10/21

The 1-3 Tampa Bay Lightning take a short trip up the road to take on their interstate rival in the 3-1 Florida Panthers.

The Stanley Cup runner-up Bolts have gotten of to a slow start to the season, dropping three of their first four games to start the season.

Their pedigree is too high to sound any alarm bells this early but they definitely need to sharpen things up and truly shake off the offseason cobwebs before they bury themselves in too deep of a hole.

Captain Steven Stamkos has been electric to start the season, recording a point in every game to start and bagging 6 goals as well.

His excellent play should continue tonight so keep reading for more analysis on that later.

On the other side, the Panthers have gotten off to a hot start, continuing their excellent form from last season as President trophy winners.

Newcomer Matthew Tkachuk has fit in perfectly on their 2nd line with Sam Bennett.

Aleksander Barkov still leads the first line and is off to a good start as well, with four points in four games.

PREDICTION

This should be an awesome hockey game. Two of the best offensive teams facing off, flying up and down the ice.

From a sides perspective, it is too close to call for me, especially this early on in the season. So I am going to stick with a total and bet on lots of goals tonight.

I love the value of plus money for the over 7. It should either push or fly over and for plus money and the possibility of a push, you can’t go wrong.

I know this is very juiced for his shots so if you can pair this with another play that you like on the board to make a nice plus money play, do it.

I will be laddering his shots as well up to 5+ when BetOnline releases those lines.

I love his goal value as well, as he has hit his shots in every game to start the season and has scored in every game as well.

Is he due for some regression? Sure. But I want to keep betting on him until he proves me otherwise.

Tkachuk’s line has been sitting at 2.5 to start the season and he has hit it in every game so I am not surprised it has been bumped.

He has still hit over 3.5 in every game as well. For the +130 value on one of Florida’s best offensive threats, give me that all day long.
