One week down and the NHL season is already HOT! Some surprises like a slumping Edmonton Oilers and Colorado Avalanche teams and other great story lines like the Utah Hockey Club’s fantastic start. This week the NHL schedule begins to get in it’s groove with a packed Tuesday. Historically Tuesdays are one of the higher scoring days of the week, so let’s dig up some gems of NHL best bets.
We will be breaking down NHL best bets here at Betting News all season! Each article will look for VALUE, as in straights you can take to build up your bankroll or pieces you can use to beef up your parlays. All bets will be -135 or better odds. And while we will focus on NHL player props, there are times we will take sides and totals. So keep your eyes peeled here as we will drop these throughout the week.
And if you haven’t already be sure to check out some of my favorite futures and awards. So time to lace them up and get ready to ride with Betzky for my favorite NHL best bets for 10/15/2024!
1. Jamie Benn Point -120 on BetOnline:
This is going to be a popular bet today but for good reason. Jamie Benn plays on the Dallas Star’s top power play unit. He also plays on a young forward line with Wyatt Johnston and Logan Stankoven. Both young players are acting like the fountain of youth to Benn who had a resurgence in his scoring prowess last season.
Tonight the Dallas Stars take on the San Jose Sharks. The Sharks allowed the most goals against (4.09 GA/GP) last season and the most shots against. While they look like a better team this season, they are still a long ways away from being able to hold off a top offense like the Stars. Last season the Stars had the 3rd best offense, averaging 3.63 goals for per game.
The power play is another area the Stars shinned. They had the 6th ranked power play, which converted at nearly 25%. The cherry on top of this NHL best bet is the fact that Benn has a point in 7 of his last 9 games against the Sharks. Benn will look to repeat history by going Shark hunting, making him an NHL best bet.

2. Andrei Kuzmenko point + Travis Konecny o2.5 SOG for +156 on BetOnline:
For this play we are going to make a little builder with two props I love from the later games. First off is Andrei Kuzmenko, who has been red hot for the Calgary Flames. After being traded from Vancouver to the Flames last season, Kuzmenko found a home on the top line. This year he has continued to roll with 4 points in his first three games.
Kuzmenko loves playing the Chicago Blackhawks as well. He has 7 points against them in his 6 career matches. The Blackhawks allowed the 5th most goals against last seasona nd have one of the worst penalty kills in the league. This is a prime spot for Kuzmenko and why his point is a best bet.
Next up is Travis Konecny who has been firing away to start the season. One of the best high volume shooters in the league will get a favorite target tonight. He has hit against Edmonton in four straight games, averaging 6.4 shot attempts when playing against them. He averaged 3.8 SOG against the Oilers in those games as well.
Put these two props together for some great plus money value, making both and NHL best bet tonight!

3. Johnathan Marchessault Point -135 on BetOnline:
The Nashville Predators went all in this offseason. They acquired three of the top UFA’s in Steven Stamkos, Brady Skeji and Jonathan Marchessault. While the players have looked great in their first two teams, the Predators are still looking for their first win.
Today they will host the Seattle Kraken and should look to use this added fire power to get a big dub. Marchessault has a particularly great history against the Kraken. In his 12 career games against them he has 13 points, hitting in 9 of the games. He has been one of the bright spots on the team with two points on the season.
Marchessault plays on the top power play unit and with Steven Stamkos on the 2nd line. This is a prime matchup for him to work his magic and harpoon the Kraken with another point. This all adds up to Marchessault point being an NHL best bet today!
