1. Pavel Zacha Point -105 on BetOnline:
The first prop in the article is going to go against some recent trends that I was just highlighting in the intro. At some points slumps have to break. And tonight is a great night for the Boston Bruins to break a terrible recent trend.
In the last 10 games the Bruins are dead last in goals for per game played. So why on earth are we taking a Bruins point prop? Well, the St Louis Blues are trending in the opposite direction for goals against per game played, ranking 2nd most in the last 10 games. The Bruins have a couple deadly players like David Pastranak who have been too quite. What a great opponent to snap a cold streak.
Unfortunately Pastranak’s point prop is too juiced to take as a straight and his two points is a bit risky. So let’s take his linemate Pavel Zacha. Zacha snapped a five game pointless streak and now has three points in his last two games. He also has a point in three of his last five games against the Blues. This prop is about catching a trend change, making Zacha point a NHL best bet.

2. Gabe Vilardi o2.5 SOG for +115 on BetOnline:
Speaking of current trends that may surprise you, who had the New York Rangers being the second leakiest team to SOG (shots on goal) over the past 10 games? Not I, but here we are. The Rangers are averaging 33.5 shots against per game over their last 10. And if this trend continues tonight then we should be able to find value on some Winnipeg Jets players.
The immediate player that comes to mind is Kyle Connor. But his wingmate Gabe Vilardi has also been ripping puck. Vilardi has now hit in 6 straight games. He is efficient with his SOGs, averaging 5.2 shot attempts a game, but often getting puck on goal on each attempt. He’s been a streaky shooter before hitting 8 times in a row last December.
This game should be very competitive as it features two of the very best teams in the league. Perhaps that why both of these teams are top 10 for shots allowed, as they have the ability to hold leads. This game is ripe for a same game parlay, but Vilardi oozes value as a straight making him a best bet.

3. Thomas Chabot o2.5 SOG +130 on BetOnline:
Chasing a recent trend and an uptick in SOG and shot attempt volume. Thomas Chabot will round out our best bets. When players shoot more it means they have more chances to get a shot on goal. And when you are averaging 7 shot attempts a game, that means there is room for error to hit your SOG prop line. Thomas Chabot has done just that and is just one reason why this NHL player prop looks great tonight.
Chabo has hit his 2.5 SOG prop in three straight games. In his last five games he has averaged 7 shot attempts a game, with no game with less than 6 attempts. This gives him some padding in case a shot goes wide or is deflected. He gets a chance to keep the streak going against a team he loves playing against. Chabot has hit in 5 of his last 7 games against Toronto. In those 7 games he has averaged 6.1 attempts.
Toronto has been tough on shots, especially to defensemen. They have allowed the 4th least to the position this season. But this is a case where the volume and historical match up can’t be missed. Especially at +130 value. This all adds up to Chabot SOG being an NHL best bet tonight.
