1. Kyle Connor o3.5 SOG +138 on BetOnline:
Starting tonight off with one of the top shooters in the league. While Connor has only hit his SOG prop in 50% of games this season, he has averaged 6.3 shot attempts per game and 3.7 SOG across 18 games this year. He is the top goalscorer for the Jets and their top sniper. He also loves playing against Florida.
In fact the Florida Panthers just beat the Jets in Miami on Saturday, taking down the NHL’s top team. Now the Jets get a chance to return the favor at home. In his last 7 games against the Panthers Connor has hit his 3.5 SOG line 5 times. He averaged 7.3 shot attempts in those games and has 4 games with 6+ SOG. After the humiliating loss Connor should be motivated to stick it to them.
The plus money value on this prop makes it very appealing and one to ride with. Connor fell short on Saturday so he may have extra motivation to get it right tonight making his SOG a NHL best bet.

2. Rob Thomas Assist for +110 on BetOnline:
We have a battle for the midwest tonight as the Minnesota Wild head to enemy territory to take on the St Louis Blues. These two rivals tend to have chippy matches. Tonight the Blues will get their top center Rob Thomas back.
The lanky playmaker has been missed. While he was out the Blues began to skid, allowing the 11th most goals against and dropping to 30th in goals for per game. He will play in his first game since 10/22 and will be right back on the top line with Kyrou and the top power play unit.
In the 7 games he has played this year Thomas has an assist in three games and 5 total. Last season he had an assist in 59% of all home games. He also has an assist in 6 of the last 10 games against the Wild. And while Minnesota has been a strong defensive team this year, I love the value we are getting on a Thomas assist tonight. Rivalries always bring out the best in players and we may see that tonight with Thomas, making his assist an NHL best bet.

3. Mikael Backlund o2.5 SOG -110 on BetOnline:
Some players don’t slow down once they get rolling. Backlund is one of those guys. He will often hit his SOG lines in a large chunk, having several cases of hitting 5+ times last season. Right now Backlund is rolling.
Backlund has now hit in 5 of the last 6 games. Over the last 5 games played he is averaging 5.2 shot attempts and 2.8 SOG. These numbers get skewed by a 0 shot attempt/0 SOG performance. Removing this outlier performance he is averaging 7.4 shot attempts and 3.6 SOG over the last 5. Tonight he gets an Islanders team who are allowing the 10th most shots against that he he has hit in 4 of the last 6 matches against.
The veteran Backlund will often find creative ways to gets shots on net. Sometimes he will shoot the puck as a dump in, to make the goalie stop play and help his team get a line change. Other times he will sit in front of the net and swat away at any and all rebounds. The Islanders are nearly complete with their Western Canada roadtrip and may come into the match tired. A perfect scenario for Backlund’s top end motor to hit his SOG prop making it a best bet tonight.
