The Panthers are coming off their fifth straight victory, picking up a 4-2 win over the New York Rangers on Monday behind Sam Reinhart’s two-goal effort. Meanwhile, the Devils hope to begin interim head coach Travis Green‘s tenure on the right foot after falling 5-1 to the Los Angeles Kings over the weekend.
Can Florida continue to build momentum? Or will New Jersey begin a new era with a victory?
With plenty of betting opportunities available tonight, let’s start your experience off right by diving into my Panthers vs. Devils predictions and best NHL bets.

Panthers vs Devils Prediction & Pick (3/5): Can Florida Be Stopped?
No matter who tries to step up, nobody can seem to stop the Panthers at the moment. Not only has Paul Maurice’s club won five games in a row, but Florida also owns a 15-2-0 record across its last 17 outings.
Since beginning their impressive run on Jan. 22, the Panthers rank second in goals for, first in goals against, first in power-play percentage, and sixth on the penalty kill across the NHL. To put things into perspective, the 27 goals they allowed over the last 17 games are 12 fewer than the next closest team.
For comparison, the Devils’ 44.1% winning percentage since Jan. 22 is seventh-worst league-wide during that stretch. New Jersey’s struggles to keep the puck out of the net play a big role in that lack of success, highlighted by the Devils allowing an average of 3.53 goals across their last 17 games (5th-worst).
Time will tell if New Jersey’s luck changes with Travis Green behind the bench. The 53-year-old interim coach previously coached the Vancouver Canucks from 2017 to 2022, going 133-147-34 (47.8%) with one playoff appearance. Having said that, Green went 8-15-2 before the Canucks fired him during the 2021-22 campaign.
Here’s your #NJDevils morning skate lines under Travis Green.

Green taking over also doesn’t change the fact that the Devils haven’t had much recent luck against the Panthers. Although New Jersey had the last laugh when these teams last met on Jan. 13, it’s been Florida that has won five of the last seven encounters.
Additionally, the Panthers won five of their six previous trips to Prudential Center, outscoring the Devils 29-25 on aggregate along the way. In fact, Florida has won each of its last three away games against New Jersey, having not lost in Newark since Nov. 9, 2021.
Needless to say, the Devils need Akira Schmid to stand on his head tonight. The 23-year-old Swiss netminder has struggled to put up wins lately, going 2-4-0 with a 3.17 goals-against average and .888 save percentage across his last nine appearances.
Meanwhile, the Panthers are likely rolling with Anthony Stolarz after Sergei Bobrovsky defeated the Rangers last night. Stolarz has been quite the brick wall since the calendar flipped to 2024, backstopping his way to a 6-2-1 record, 1.98 GAA, .929 SV%, and one shutout in his last nine starts.
Panthers G Anthony Stolarz has been stellar between the pipes over the last two months.
It’s going to take the Devils some time to gel under Green, hence why I’m backing the Panthers to win. If potential Stanley Cup contenders like the Rangers and Colorado Avalanche haven’t been able to stop Florida, I don’t have much faith in New Jersey doing so — especially after its recent performances.
I’m even going as far as taking the Panthers at -1.5 on the puck line. It won’t be easy to cover on the road, but I can’t ignore that the Panthers have outscored their last 17 opponents by an average of 2.1 goals per game, picking up nine multi-goal victories in that span. The Devils, on the other side, have four multi-goal losses across their last seven games alone.
With the way that both teams are trending, I like the Panthers’ odds to win this one decisively.

Best Panthers vs Devils NHL Player Prop (3/5)
You can’t go wrong with several Panthers vs. Devils player props tonight, including Carter Verhaeghe to record at least one assist.
[su_icon icon="icon: check-circle" background="#F4F7FC" color="#2FBB9C" text_color="#1F2933" size="16" shape_size="4" radius="256" text_size="14" url="" margin="0"] $10 Cash Bonus with code "BNEWS" [/su_icon]

Verhaeghe has been setting up his teammates like no tomorrow, already racking up a career-high 34 assists through 62 games. The 28-year-old veteran’s playmaking has been on full display in recent weeks, resulting in seven assists across his last eight games — including at least one helper in each of his last five outings.
With the Devils surrendering the third-most assists to left wings this season (per eDraft), don’t hesitate to back this Verhaeghe prop tonight.
