Panthers vs Golden Knights Game 2 Preview
The Golden Knights successfully defended their home ice in Game 1 of this series, but can they do it again today?
The Panthers have been in this position before. In Round 1, they found themselves down 1-0 to the President’s Trophy Winner, the Boston Bruins. Florida responded by taking Game 2 on the road by a score of 6-3. Worth noting that this was also when Alex Lyon was still the starting goalie.
The Panthers are an incredible 8-2 on the road in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, including their Game 1 loss in the Stanley Cup Final.
I lean with the Panthers to bounce back tonight and make this series interesting.
Let’s take a look at tonight’s matchup!

Stanley Cup Final Game 2 Prediction & Best Bets
My gut tells me that the Panthers bounce back and steal a close one tonight in Vegas. Yet I can’t quite get myself to take them on the moneyline.
I think we see a low scoring game tonight, contrary to what transpired in Game 1.
Sergei Bobrovsky had a game of regression, while Adin Hill played out of his mind, en route to a 5-2 Knights’ victory.
Tonight, I expect both goalies and defenses to be on their A-game as we see a 3-2 Panthers victory in Overtime.
Game 2 Player Props
Alexsander Barkov over 2.5 SOGs (-108) BetOnline
The Captain for Florida should show out tonight.
Barkov has only cleared this number in 8/17 playoff games, but he’s had 2 SOGs in four other playoff games. However, the man has been letting them fly.
This playoff campaign, he has had at least 5 Shot Attempts in 13/17 games. This includes a game with 4 and 2 games with 3 Shot Attempts.
Not to mention against the Knights, he really turns it on. In Game 1, he only had 2 SOGs, but still totaled 5 attempts. Against the Knights in the regular season, he had 5 SOGs on 7 attempts, and 1 SOG on 3 attempts.
So far this year in three games against Vegas, 8 SOGs on 15 total attempts. Dating back to last year, Barkov had 5 SOGs in both games against VGK, with 5 and 7 Shot Attempts.
In his career, Barkov has hit this line in 6/10 games against the Knights. I expect the Florida Captain to help his team try and take Game 2.
Jonathan Marchessault over 0.5 Point (-154) BetOnline
Much like our favorite bet of Chris Kreider to get a point to start the playoffs, we’re doing the same thing here with Marchessault. The dude’s been on an incredible tear, so we are going to keep taking this until A) it doesn’t hit, or B) the book juice it to unplayable odds.
At -154, I’m willing to pay the juice man and ride with Marchy.
He’s had a point in 11/18 playoff games, including 5 multi-point games. Not to mention he is currently on a 6-game point streak, where he’s totaled 8 points in that span.
Marchessault also scored in 2 straight games, and 6 of his L8 games. He has 8 total goals in that span.
Bonus: Marchessault Anytime Goal (+180) BetOnline
