It’s incredibly busy around the NHL tonight with 12 games scheduled for Thursday, March 14 — including a Florida Panthers (45-17-4) vs. Carolina Hurricanes (39-20-6) showdown at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN+.

The Panthers are on fire and looking for their third win in a row after beating the Dallas Stars 4-3 on Tuesday. On the other side, the Hurricanes hope to see more offensive success after being shut out 1-0 by the New York Rangers two nights ago.
BetOnline projects that there’s a good chance one of these clubs will be playing for the Stanley Cup this spring. Florida is currently the +650 favorite to win a championship this season while Carolina sits fourth at +900 odds.
In the meantime, let’s get into my Panthers vs. Hurricanes NHL predictions and best bets.

Panthers vs Hurricanes NHL Prediction & Pick (3/14): Eastern Juggernauts Collide
Hockey enthusiasts are in for a treat with tonight’s matchup. The Panthers are currently the No. 1 team in the NHL with 94 points while the Hurricanes are second in the Metropolitan Division with 84 points.
These clubs have also split their first two meetings of the 23-24 campaign. The Panthers notched a 5-2 win at home on Nov. 10 before the Hurricanes won 1-0 at PNC Arena last month as Pyotr Kochetkov stopped all 45 shots sent his way.
The Hurricanes are in unfamiliar territory, though, as they come off their first shutout loss of the season. They now must face the Panthers, who are 8-1 SU with a plus-1.7 average goal differential across their last nine games.
Having said that, it’s worth noting that the Hurricanes have only lost back-to-back games once since Dec. 27.
The Hurricanes have gone nearly three months without consecutive losses.
It’ll be interesting to see how the Hurricanes handle a Panthers offense that’s been near-unstoppable lately. While Carolina allows the fifth-fewest goals per game, Florida has been on a scoring spree, tallying at least four goals in 11 of their last 16 games.
Six Panthers players have at least five goals during that stretch with Sam Reinhart leading the way with nine. Additionally, Florida surrenders the fewest goals league-wide, meaning Carolina could struggle to keep things close if it can’t slow down the visitor’s deep lineup.
With this being a big game, the Panthers are likely rolling with Sergei Bobrovsky tonight. The Russian netminder has had the Hurricanes’ number over the last two years, going 7-1-0 with a 1.49 goals-against average, .950 save percentage, and one shutout in the last eight meetings.
Meanwhile, the Hurricanes are probably starting Frederik Andersen, who has won back-to-back starts since returning from injury. At the same time, Anderson only has one win along with a .902 SV% in his last six starts against Florida.
The #Canes are not holding a morning skate before they take on the Panthers this evening.
Since he's returned, the team has rotated between Frederik Andersen and Pyotr Kochetkov in net.

As great as the Hurricanes can be at home, I like the Panthers tonight. Not only have the Panthers won eight of their last nine games, but they’re also 15-1 SU across their last 16 road games. As long as Bobrovsky stands tall between the pipes, I see Florida’s dominance continuing with another win.
With that in mind, let’s also take the Panthers outright on the moneyline. They’re the NHL’s best team at the moment and the results speak for themselves at this point.

Best Panthers vs Hurricanes NHL Player Prop (3/14)
Sometimes it’s best to ride the hot hand, which is why we’re going with Sam Reinhart as an anytime goal scorer for my Panthers vs. Hurricanes prop pick.
[su_icon icon="icon: check-circle" background="#F4F7FC" color="#2FBB9C" text_color="#1F2933" size="16" shape_size="4" radius="256" text_size="14" url="" margin="0"] $10 Cash Bonus with code "BNEWS" [/su_icon]

Reinhart is having a career year thus far, tallying a personal-best 46 goals through 66 games. He’s found the back of the net in five of his last seven games, racking up a total of seven goals during that stretch. If that isn’t convincing enough, he’s scored in five straight road games.
Reinhart also leads the NHL with 26 power-play goals, which is good news for him since the Hurricanes have taken 19 penalties in their last five games alone.
Expect the 28-year-old sniper to bring his best again tonight.
Best Panthers vs Hurricanes Prop Bet: Sam Reinhart Anytime Goal (+140)
