See Picks & Statistics For The GameThe 4-1-1 Pittsburgh Penguins, fresh off of a loss to the Oilers, travel to Calgary to take on another Canadien foe, the 4-1 Flames.
The Penguins have come out incredibly hot to start the season, scoring 3 or more goals in every game and 6+ in three of six.
Sydney Crosby has come out flying, scoring 4 goals and bagging a whopping 11 points.
It isn’t a surprise necessarily given that Crosby is one of the best players in the league. However, he doesn’t appear to be slowing down, even at 35 years old.
Evgeni Malkin has come out equally on fire, reminding everyone that he is also one of the best Centers in the league.
He has looked aggressive and is shooting the puck early and often (I will get to that a bit more later).
On the Flames side of things, they have looked sharp to start the season and are so hard to play at home in Calgary.
The Saddledome is always rocking, no matter the night of the week and that should be no different tonight.
Newcomers Jonathan Huberdeau and Nazem Kadri have fit right in and have led the Flames to a great start.
Who come’s out on top of this battle of two early season powerhouses?

Prediction
The Flames get the Penguins in a good spot here as they are on a back-to-back and just lost a fast paced one to the Oilers in Edmonton.
The Flames haven’t played since Saturday and should be ready to rock and roll here at home in front of, what should be, a raucous crowd at the Saddledome.
The Money line is too juiced for my liking so I am going to stick with the Flames to get it done in regulation and handle their business tonight.
Best Bet
Flames in Regulation (-105)
Props
Evgeni Malkin o2.5 SOGs (-165)
This is very juiced for a straight bet so I will be pairing this with Valeri Nichushkin o2.5 SOGs in the Avalanche game for +140.
As I mentioned before, Malkin has been firing the puck to start the season and with no Jake Guentzal again, Malkin will have even more chances to fire, in open play and on the power play.
If you like to bet super juiced lines, then playing Malkin straight is a great bet.
Nazem Kadri o3.5 SOGs (+110)
Kadri has fit in perfectly in Calgary after his offseason move from the Avalanche.
He looks healthy and is going to be a big contributor for the Flames this season.
He has hit his SOGs in three of five to start the season and has a point in every game.
Kadri will come out firing tonight and possibly bag a goal for the Flames.
Enjoy the beautiful hockey slate tonight and this game!
