See Picks & Statistics For The GameThe Nashville Predators travel to Denver to take on the Avalanche in a Saturday night Western Conference showdown.
The Preds are 12-12-4 but are coming in to this one on a 5 game losing streak and need to get some positive momentum going.
Captain Roman Josi has been excellent for the Preds to start the season, but the rest of the lineup hasn’t been performing, which has caused HC John Hynes to have to shake things up.
The Main Powerplay unit has also been shaken up, as the Preds have been struggling to generate offense on the power play and in regular play.
The Predators have scored the 2nd fewest goals this season, only managing 69 through their first 28 games.
Luckily G Juuse Saros has been great between the pipes, with a 2.88 GA% and a .910 Save percentage.
It hasn’t led to as many wins due to the lack of offense, but Saros has been as good as necessary to stay in games and is going to need to be excellent again tonight.
The Avalanche have a bit of an up and down start to the campaign but mostly due to being decimated by injuries.
Superstar Nathan MacKinnon is still out with an upper body injury and will be out for another few weeks.
Luckily, Valeri Nichushkin is back from his early stint on the IR and is a great piece to get back to this high-powered offense.
At the back end, G Alexander Georgiev has been great, with a 2.67 GAA and a .918 Save percentage.
In this battle of two Western conference foes, who will come out on top tonight?

Prediction
I am a big Predators fan but I am going to fade them here. The Avalanche should take care of business at home tonight.
The Avs are a nightmare matchup for the Preds and, with how limited the Predators are on the offensive end, this one could get ugly.
I expect the Avs fast-paced offense to be too much for the Preds to handle and the likes of Cale Makar, Mikko Rantanen, and Val Nichushkin will put the Predators away and have Ball Arena rocking on a Saturday night.
Best Bet
Avalanche in Regulation (-113)
Prop of the Game
Roman Josi o4.5 SOGs (+126)
As I mentioned before, Josi has been the most consistent player for the Preds and the best shooter on this team.
He hasn’t hit 5+ in 3 straight games but had 4 in those 3 and hit in 7 of the previous 8 before that.
He also has hit in 2 of his last 4 against the Avs. If the Preds want to stay around in this one, Josi will be shooting and doing everything he can to keep the Preds alive in Denver.
