Today marks the final day of Group Stage matches for the Men’s Olympic Soccer Tournament, and we are here to bring you the best bets on the slate! All 16 teams are in action for their third and final match of Group Stage, and only 8 teams will advance to the Quarterfinals. Teams must finish in 1st or 2nd of their group to keep their Gold Medal hopes alive today.
So far, we have three teams that have already punched their ticket into the next round. They may not have solidified themselves as the group winner, but they have guaranteed either 1st or 2nd in their group.
- Group A: France
- Group C: Spain
- Group D: Japan
On the flip side, two teams have already been eliminated, and even an 8-nil win won’t help them move on.
- Group A: Guinea
- Group C: Uzbekistan
Regardless, the other teams have so much to play for, and should be giving it their all on the pitch. Let’s dive into some of these matchups and find our best bets for today’s Olympic Men’s Soccer!
Group B Betting Information
Group B is interesting because we have all 4 teams tied up at 3 points a piece. Argentina was just seconds away from drawing with Morocco, but alas, they lost but then were able to beat Iraq. Here’s how it all went down.
- Argentina: Lost to Morocco, Beat Iraq
- Ukraine: Lost to Iraq, Beat Morocco
- Morocco: Beat Argentina, Lost to Ukraine
- Iraq: Beat Ukraine, Lost to Argentina
The group is listed based off of tiebreakers, as Argentina is the only team with a positive goal differential so far, but that could change with the matches at 11:00am Eastern today, which brings me to one of my best bets.

For plus money and push potential, I’ll take Argentina to blow out Ukraine. They control their own destiny, as a win would seal the group assuming Morocco doesn’t win by 3+ goals. And personally, I think this Argentinian team is mad that they let one slip away. They know they should be sitting at the top of the group with 6 points, and I see them coming out extremely fired up and ready to seal Group B.
I think Argentina is much more talented than Ukraine, and in this specific spot, I think Argentina has more momentum. Both lost their opening matches then turned it on in the second, but I just think Argentina’s youth is deeper than Ukraine’s and have much more fire power up top. I think this tournament is still Argentina’s to lose, and I think they seal the group with a dominant performance today over Ukraine. Give me Argentina -1 for plus money as my best bet in this match.

Once again, we are backing the United States to come out firing against Guinea. Now, Guinea is done, they have nothing to play for, and the opposite is true for the USA. There is no head to head tiebreaker in group stage, and rather it is simply goal differential. This means the US has a chance, a small chance, but still a chance to win Group A. This would take a dominating win by the US, plus a New Zealand victory over the hosts, which seems unlikely.
So assuming France wins or draws with New Zealand, the United States should just need 1 point to advance. However, they have momentum from their most recent match, and I see them carrying that over today. The United States should come out firing, leaving nothing up to chance, as they impose their dominance on the inferior squad of Guinea. For nearly even money, I’ll back the US to win the first 45 minutes and never look back as they advance to the Quarterfinals.
