I’ve got three picks locked and loaded for the Saturday soccer slate. Some were released on the Betting News Twitch account earlier in the week, so be sure to tune in weekly to beat the rest of the market!
Columbus Crew vs. New England Revolution
Matchup Information
- Venue & Location: Lower.com Field (Columbus, OH)
- Kick Off: Saturday, April 15th @ 7:30PM Eastern
- Broadcast: Apple TV
Betting Odds
Odds Courtesy of BetOnline.
Moneyline
- Columbus Crew (+105)
- Draw (+230)
- New England Revolution (+230)
Total
- Over 2.5 (-115)
- Under 2.5 (-115)
Draw No Bet
- Columbus Crew (-180)
- New England Revolution (+154)
These teams sit near the top of the Eastern Conference, and should remain there most of the season. New England is 5-1-1 and Columbus is 4-1-2, sitting at 16 and 13 points respectively.
The Crew are 3-0 at home this season, outscoring opponents 12-1 in those games. They shutout D.C. United 2-0, Real Salt Lake 4-0, and then handled Atlanta United 6-1. However New England is a different kind of animal.
They have a +6 goal differential and are 2-0-1 on the road, winning twice by one goal, and then being shutout 4-0 by Western Conference giant, LAFC. However, I do think the Crew stay strong at home.
I predict a 3-1 Columbus Crew victory, but would like a little more juice than +105 to play them on the ML.
NYCFC vs. Nashville SC
Matchup Information
- Venue & Location: Citi Field Stadium (New York, NY)
- Kick Off: Saturday, April 15th @ 7:30PM Eastern
- Broadcast: Apple TV+
Betting Odds
Odds Courtesy of BetOnline
Moneyline
- NYCFC (+100)
- Draw (+230)
- Nashville SC (+260)
Total
- Over 2.5 (+100)
- Under 2.5 (-140)
Draw No Bet
- NYCFC (-225)
- Nashville SC (+160)
These teams already played each other to start the season in Nashville, where the home team walked away with a 1-0 victory and 3 points. NYCFC will certainly be looking for revenge in front of their home crowd.
However, these are two very low scoring teams.
So far this season, NYCFC has only had one game go over the 2.5 total. Nashville has not had a single game go over. In fact, only two Nashville games have had 2 total goals scored , both 2-0 victories.
NYCFC is more aggressive offensively at home, but both of these teams are very defensive minded. Nashville’s backline is patrolled by US National Team defender Walker Zimmerman, and they have proven to be a tough squad to score against.
I booked under 2.5 goals at -140 odds on BetOnline Risking 1.4u to win 1u.
St. Louis City SC vs. FC Cincinnati
Matchup Information
- Venue & Location: CityPark (St. Louis, MO)
- Kick Off: Saturday, April 15th @ 8:30PM Eastern
- Broadcast: Apple TV+
Betting Odds
Odds Courtesy of Caesar’s.
Moneyline
- St. Louis City SC (+130)
- Draw (+240)
- FC Cincinnati (+200)
Total
- Over 2.5 (-135)
- Under 2.5 (-105)
Draw No Bet
- St. Louis City SC (-140)
- FC Cincinnati (+110)
The former new kids on the block travel to St. Louis to take on the league newest expansion squad. Cincinnati sits on top of the entire league with 17 points on 5 wins and 2 draws, while St. Louis sits on top of the West with 15 points on 5 wins and 2 losses.
FC Cincinnati is unbeaten through seven games, but they haven’t been overly impressive. All five wins have been by just 1 goal. They have four 1-nil victories, three of which have been at home, and one 2-1 win, also at home. But now they travel to face a dangerous St. Louis team.
On the road this year, Cincinnati is 1-2-0, with a nil-nil draw at Orlando, and a 3-3 draw at Chicago, in which they notched goals in the 84th and 87th minutes to escape with a point.
After starting off their MLS campaign with five straight wins, St. Louis City SC finally lost at home to Minnesota 1-0, and then traveled to Seattle to get routed by the Sounders 3-0. The newbies have come back down to Earth, and I like them to bounce back against an FC Cincinnati team that is not as good as their record suggests.
I booked St. Louis City SC on the ML at +130 on Caesar’s Sportsbook.
