UEFA Champions League Knockout Round: February 13th, 2024

The UEFA Champions League is back today as the Knockout Round gets started with the first leg of the first set of games today!

Today in the UCL we have:

• FC Copenhagen vs Manchester City
• RB Leipzig vs Real Madrid

Let’s break these games down and find our best bets!

FC Copenhagen vs Manchester City

Per usual, of the 16 remaining teams in the UCL, Manchester City is the team to beat. They are the clear betting favorite, and even though they are on the road today, they are -400 on the ML.

FC Copenhagen is just happy to be here. They somehow squeaking into the Knockout Round and find themselves matched up against the defending Champions.

Now, keep in mind, this is a two leg contest. Today’s game is in Denmark while next month’s 2nd leg will be in Manchester. I expect City to come out firing and really put this one away early. I think Man City uses this away leg to get ahead in the aggregate match, that way next month at home, they could maybe suit up some reserves in front of their home fans.

Regardless, I think City is definitely able to produce plenty of chances in this match, and I’m sure they will be able to put a few of them in the back of the net.

The Pick: Manchester City TT Over 2.5 (+110) Bovada

Now, the full game total is set at 3 goals, so this will be sweaty. But I think Man City has more than enough fire power to get this done. Again, in this first leg, they should come out strong, hoping to relax a bit before the next round of UCL play.

RB Leipzig vs Real Madrid

Real Madrid is running away with La Liga this season, but they have their sights set on lifting the UEFA Champions League Trophy for the first time since 2022. They rolled through Group Stage, winning every single contest and dominating their group.

But today they are on the road against RB Leipzig. Leipzig lost to Manchester City twice in group stage, but otherwise they handled business. Now, they have lost 2 of their L3 at home in all competitions, and against the talent of Real Madrid, this could be a tough battle at home.

Real Madrid has been incredible this competition season. Since September, they have only been beaten twice in all competitions, both times losing to Atlético Madrid. This team is hungry, they have tons of talent, and even on the road, I’ll back them to get the job done today.
