This week, the 2022 WTA Finals are taking place at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, and early indications are that the singles draw could pan out like several other tournaments have this season.
World number one Iga Swiatek made nine finals this season, winning eight of them, including titles at the French Open and US Open. Unsurprisingly, Swiatek also tops the tour’s money list with over $9 million in winnings this season.
Swiatek opened her stay in Fort Worth with a 6-2, 6-3 win over #8 Daria Kasatkina on Tuesday. She still has two round-robin matches remaining against Carolina Garcia and Coco Gauff, then a potential semifinal and final, but the 21-year-old looks like a good bet to finish her stellar season with a ninth title and $1.24 million.
Here’s a look at the tournament odds heading into Thursday’s round-robin matches, which will see #1 Swiatek take on #6 Caroline Garcia and #4 Coco Gauff facing off against #8 Kasatkina.
Odds to Win the 2022 WTA Finals
Odds are via BetOnline as of Thursday, November 3 at 2:50 p.m. Eastern.
- Iga Swiatek -140
- Maria Sakkari +600
- Ons Jabeur +600
- Caroline Garcia +650
- Aryna Sabalenka +850
- Coco Gauff +1700
- Jessica Pegula +1800
- Daria Kasatkina +4500
This year’s WTA Finals features all of the top eight players in the current WTA singles rankings, with no players opting out or being forced to miss the tournament due to injury.
As a result, there should be a great, competitive week of tennis at Dickies Arena. Swiatek is the favorite–and she most certainly should be–but Jabeur has also had a great year and will certainly be eager to have another crack at her after losing to her in the US Open final and in the final of the WTA 1000 Italian Open in May.
Of course, that matchup would not occur until the semis at the earliest, with Jabeur ranked second behind Swiatek and in the other group along with Pegula, Sakkari, and Sabalenka.
