We got the late game on the WNBA slate to talk about so let's get into it. The Chicago Sky will play the Los Angeles Sparks at Crypto.com Arena.
Neither team is having a spectacular year, but the Sparks are currently in the playoffs. They are the 4th seed in the Western Conference. Chicago is 2 full games out of the 4th seed in the Eastern Conference, so they have work to do as the season ends.
This will be the 4th time these 2 teams meet. They Sky have won 2 of the 3 games, winning the last 2 games, but they were both home games. The game they lost was in LA and we’re back there for this game.
The Sky have some advantages on paper vs the Sparks. They shoot from 3-point range and they clean the boards on offense much better, so look for these to be factors.
Both teams' home and away record are virtually the same. Chicago being 8-9 on the road and LA is 9-8 at home. It will be interesting to see if the trend of their matchups continues with the home team winning.
Can the Sky make it 3 in a row vs the Sparks?
Chicago will need to use their strengths to win this game. Kahleah Copper will need to keep up her excellent play. She’s leading the team with 18.2 points per game and also grabbing 4.4 rebounds per game.
Courtney Williams has really been playing good as well. She contributes 10 points, 6 assists, and 5.7 rebounds per game. They’re going to need her to show out with Copper to compete.
Nneka Ogwumike and Jordin Canada lead the Sparks offense this year. Ogwumike is averaging 19.3 points and 8.9 rebounds per game while Canada is putting up 13.5 points and 6 assists per game.
Azura Stevens has put up 17, 18 and 20 points in her last 3 games. She’s also averaging 7.8 rebounds in those 3 games. She has been a beast for LA, so expect her to be a problem for Chicago.

Pick: Sparks -3.5 (-110)
This line opened at 2.5 and has already moved. Other than the 2 points mentioned earlier with 3-point shooting and offensive rebounding by the Sky, this is a pretty even matchup.
I definitely see this game being close, but I also see the trend continuing of the home team winning. The Sparks should come out strong and put some points up early. Look for Jordin Canada to feed Nneka Ogwumike and Azura Stevens.
Stevens has been a big piece of the offense the past 3 games, so they’ll look to her to continue her play. Everyone’s going to need to contribute to this game as it is big.
The Sparks are currently in a playoff position, so every game is now going to count massively. Give me the Sparks to cover and give themselves another W in the win column.
Player Prop: Azura Stevens O12.5 Points (-113)
Azura has had a heck of a last 3 games, having 17, 18 and 20 points respectively. She has hit this line in her last 4 out of 5 games as well as her last 6 out of 8 games.
She is averaging just 10.6 points per game, so this play will be much needed coming down the stretch. With only a few games left, this can really help keep LA in the playoffs.
She helps complement Ogwumike and Canada by helping keep attention off of them. She’s another weapon for the Sparks and she’s going to keep going. Expect her to shoot a lot and hit the points for us with no problem.
