Dream vs Liberty Predictions & WNBA Picks Today (9/19)
As mentioned earlier, the Dream must win to keep their playoff hopes alive. While things haven’t looked promising in recent weeks, things have been turning around for the visitors.
After suffering eight losses in 10 games, the Dream will head into tonight’s showdown following back-to-back wins over the Washington Mystics and Chicago Sky. It’s only the fourth time that Atlanta has won consecutive outings this season, leaving time to tell if momentum will continue growing against the WNBA’s No. 1 team.
On the flip side, the Liberty have done what they’ve been doing all season: dominate. New York notched its sixth win in the last seven days with Tuesday’s 87-71 victory over the Mystics that saw Breanna Stewart lead the charge with a 15-point, 10-rebound double-double. The Liberty now get to return to Barclays Center where they’re 14-3 SU across their last 17 home games.
For comparison, the Dream are 2-10 SU in their last 12 road outings.
Breanna Stewart (30) is a big reason why the Liberty are the No. 1 team in the WNBA this season.
Nevertheless, New York could be shorthanded tonight. The Liberty have already secured the No. 1 postseason seed, meaning key players like Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu could be given the night off to avoid risking injuries.
With that in mind, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Dream picked up the upset win tonight. The Liberty are a tough team, however, they have nothing to lose and might put forth their worst possible lineup. Motivated by a chance to make the playoffs, Atlanta is a solid pick to win this evening.
As far as the best bet goes, let’s go with the Under on the 156.5-point total. The Under is 6-3 in the Dream’s last nine games as well as 5-1 in the Liberty’s six previous home matchups. These teams also finished with fewer than 156.5 points in two of their first three meetings while the season series has averaged 155.3 points per game.

Best Dream vs Liberty WNBA Prop Bet (9/19)
When it comes to the best Dream vs. Liberty prop bet, I like the Under on Rhyne Howard’s 18.5-point total (-133).

While Howard has been a reliable presence for the Dream throughout the 2024 campaign, her play has declined lately. The former 2022 first-overall pick is only averaging 13.5 points on .291/.222/.889 splits in her last four games, finishing with the Under on this prop each time. Making matters worse is that the Under is 6-2 in her last eight games against the Liberty.
As good as she can be, I say it’s best to temper expectations regarding Howard tonight.
