Are the Las Vegas Aces allergic to losing? It would seem that way, given that they have lost only twice in 23 games this season.
Since taking their second loss of the season, the defending WNBA champions have won five straight games, all by at least 16 points. Tonight, they will look to take their win streak to six as they visit the Chicago Sky (7:00 pm ET, ESPN), who shook off their recent allergy to winning on Saturday at Seattle.
How will tonight’s matchup at Wintrust Arena play out? Before diving into the betting breakdown, let’s take a look at Aces vs Sky odds, courtesy of Bovada.

Aces Hold All the Cards for Windy City Contest
Today, it was announced that Aces forward Candace Parker will be out indefinitely after having foot surgery. Parker, who hasn’t played since July 7, is averaging 9.0 PPG, 5.4 RPG, and 3.7 APG in her first season with Aces following two seasons with the Sky.
So, we won’t see the future Hall of Famer make her return to Wintrust Arena tonight. But will she be missed? Given what her team has done in the five games since her last appearance, which came in their 80-78 loss to the Dallas Wings, things seem to be running rather smoothly without her.
In their win streak, the Aces have scored 97 or more points four times, including Saturday’s 98-81 win at Minnesota.
In the lone game they weren’t on fire offensively, they were held to “only” 79 points at Seattle, which is fewer than the Sky produced in Saturday’s 90-75 win over the Storm.
That was only the fourth time all season that the Sky have scored 90 or more points this season, which pales in comparison to the offensively prowess displayed by the Aces, who have scored 90 or more points 17 times this season.
The Sky are fourth in the WNBA in scoring defense (81.4 PPG), trailing only the league’s three best teams. However, they didn’t have much luck slowing down the Aces when they met at Michelob Ultra Arena last month. In a 93-80 win, A’ja Wilson and company shot 58.5% from the field, and all five starters, including Parker, scored in double figures.
Las Vegas Aces vs Chicago Sky Prediction and Picks
Prediction for Aces vs Sky: Aces to win
Picks for Aces vs Sky: Aces -14.5 (-110) & Kelsey Plum to score 20+ points (-115)
The Aces are on a roll right now, destroying every team they go up against. I don’t see a team that has had offensive issues throughout the season being able to keep up tonight, even if they keep the Aces below their season average of 93.5 PPG.
My other pick for tonight’s matchup is for Plum to have another highly productive night.
Plum had only 16 points against the Lynx, which ended her five-game run of scoring 20+ points on the road. In July, Plum is averaging 22.9 PPG and has scored 20+ points in five games, in addition to a 30-point performance in the WNBA All-Star Game.
