New York Liberty vs Connecticut Sun Prediction, Odds & Best Bets: Liberty look to move to Finals.

The Liberty head into Game 4 with one thing on their minds and that’s winning to move on to the WNBA Finals. New York came out with a huge Game 3 win over the Sun in the Mohegan Sun Arena Friday night.
I covered Game 3 of this series and I had said the Liberty would need everyone to contribute to get the win. They did exactly that on their way to an 11-point win and one game away from the WNBA Finals.
All 5 Liberty starters scored double-digits points. Brenna Stewart led the way with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Jonquel Jones went ahead and kept her playoff double-double streak going at 5 games with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Betnijah Laney showed out with another 20-point performance. She had 8 rebounds to go along with that 20 piece. I can’t forget the guards in Ionescu and Vandersloot who both had double digit points. Ionescu led the team with 4 3-pointers and Vandersloot led with 7 assists.
Game 3 was a really even match up from rebounding to defense like blocks and steals. The difference was New York put up more shots and they’ll need to continue to do that if they want to close this series out in Connecticut.
Connecticut was really just out played on the offensive end in Game 3. DeWanna Bonner didn’t score any many points as she did in Games 1 and 2, but Alyssa Thomas made up for it. Thomas had 25 points and missed a triple double by 1 rebound while Bonner only had 10 points.
Tiffany Hayes contributed 16 points and 6 rebounds and Olivia Nelson-Ododa had 14 points herself. Players like them contributing is huge to take the load off of Bonner and Thomas.
The Sun are really going to have to dial in to force a Game 5. They will be playing an extremely determined team whose rival is waiting for them. The Las Vegas Aces clinched their WNBA Finals birth last night as they swept the Dallas Wings.

Prediction and Pick: New York Liberty -5.5 (-104)
This is the time they’ve been waiting for. 1 game away from the WNBA Finals and they’ll play the Aces as expected. This is what all these players were brought in for this off season.
New York is determined and has such great chemistry. They move the ball around so well and no one is greedy. They really play team basketball up and down the court.
The Liberty are going to look to replicate Game 3 with a hot start and shooting from 3. If they can connect from 3 early, they could really get ahead. They need to lock down on defense though because they let Connecticut back in the game in Game 3.
This line is short again which I love. I thought it would’ve been around 7.5 or 8.5 after what we just saw, but the books think otherwise. That’s perfectly fine with me. Liberty cover and move to the WNBA Finals.
Player Prop: Betnijah Laney O15.5 Points (-111)
Betnijah has been incredible, and I don’t see her slowing down. She has been playing with so much grit and heart on both offense and defense.
She’s coming off back-to-back 20-point games as well as hitting this line in 4 out of her last 5 games. She had 19 in each of the other 2 games. Laney has also hit this line is her last 8 out of 10 games.
The Liberty big 4 is turning into a big 5 and it’s their entire starting lineup. Laney has fit in so well with the others and it is showing. New York is going to be playing to close this series out and I expect her to continue to score.
